BB -the player trott could not get on with and motivate.

I wonder if they shook hands at the end.

Certainly today was Bertie's revenge !!

Another lesson in people mangement skills for Mr Trott.A little bit of humility never goes amiss.Otherwise ,it usually catches up with you someday

I don't have much to say about the match, the scoreline says it all really, the gap in class was obvious.

I'd like to mention the fact that SCS made some awesome saves, it could have easily been 5-1 at half time if it wasn't for Scotty.

Rob Haworth also deserves a mention.....full of running right up until the end, you don't often see a player chasing the ball like a madman at 5-1 down. Well done Rob!

Lets re-group for boxing day, that'll be a key game for a certain Mr Trott me thinks.

Didn't expect too much from this game today to be honest, even had we had more of the senior players out there. Our defensive frailties were bound to catch us out sooner or later with a heavy loss.If its going to happen let it be at Chelmsford.

With the team we DID have out there & despite it seemingly being mostly one-sided I think they did magnificently to have gone into half-time a goal to the good.

I agree with others though that its a shame we couldn't deny them again for another 45 minutes but really I am not too shocked by this result & I would have been amazed had Chelmsford not come back into it with a bang. Lets face it a 1-0 loss or 5-1 loss we haven't lost too much,if any, ground in the table, thanks to other results.

We played away against a very good footballing side today one that will almost certainly pull away from all the rest very soon & win the league,so I am not too disheartened.

Now,onto Wednesday & Boxing day.Thats another matter altogether.I am expecting a good result there & moreso now after todays result.

Rally the troops Trotty, get their heads up & make them work their socks off v the Rams. Its much more than just a result we are after on Wednesday.

No thoughts of losing on Wednesday Ian,but if it turns out that way then credit will have to go to the opposition on the day rather than apportioning blame on the manager.I'm sure he will get them revved up for Boxing day with whatever players he has available to him anyway.
It should be a cracker on Wednesday & whatever the outcome I'm sure Trotty will still be managing this club after that day.

Another humiliation may be too much for many Cookie. Those who went today that I spoke to felt totally embarrassed by the tactics and performance in the second half. The team can be sure they will get the passionate support from the fans so I hope they can play their socks off.

We were let down today by some inadequacies in footballing basics, which have been evident for some time (but we have been lucky that not too many teams have exploited it to the extent that Chelmsford did today).

Before the game, before any game, you see the team playing one-touch or two-touch passing. However when the game starts we don't employ this, we go to the long speculative high ball - which almost inevitably means we lose possession. By contrast the opposition employ the short pass, ball to feet and run rings around us. When are we going to learn?

I think this is very similar to a premier league game between Chelsea and Manchester City.

Chelsea were second in the league at the time while Manchester City were 5th like todays situation. Man City were battered 6-0 bit like us getting battered by Chelmsford 5-1.

Manchester City followed that result up by going unbeaten for 5 matches. wink
