Press Statement - New Manager

Windsor & Eton F.C.

Press Release.

Friday 21st December 2007

The Board is pleased to announce today the appointment of Keith Scott as the club’s new Manager.

‘Scottie’, first came to the attention of Royalists’ fans in the 2003/04 season when he was part of Dennis Greene’s side which won promotion to The Ryman Premier League scoring 14 goals in 35 games, becoming something of a cult hero in the process.

Keith’s professional playing career included spells at, High Wycombe, Swindon in the F.A. Premier League, Norwich, Stoke and Reading; his managerial mentors included such luminaries as Martin O’ Neil and John Gorman. Keith also obtained his UEFA A Coaching License during this time.

He was given his first opportunity in Football Management by Leighton Town a position he took over in October ’06 when they were bottom of the British Gas Midlands Division 1 and some 11 points from safety. They eventually maintained their status in the division as well as winning The Bucks Charity Cup along the way. This season they reached the 4th qualifying round of the F.A. Cup before eventually going out to Havant & Waterlooville.

‘The Colonel’ as he is affectionately known by the Windsor & Eton faithful (although no one seems to know why) will take charge of his first game on Boxing Day when The Royalists entertain Slough Town in an intriguing festive derby at Stag Meadow.

Ends.
