Kentish Town Football Club - Press Publicity

Recommended Posts

because (and this may come as a shock to you as you obviously haven't picked up the vibe living as you do with your head in the sand) I am not interested in an article about Kentish Town FC. Also I don't buy or even read in the shop any of the non league papers.

Lato - I think that post says a lot about you, I thought you were a follower of Non League football and one of the papers is a must read on a Sunday. I'm sure you're going Christmas shopping later on today so surely it wouldn't be any trouble to grab 'Non League' at your local supermarket or WH Smith and quickly thumb to page 7, you wouldn't need to lay out the £1.40

Football Man - Why isn't it, how else would one get hold of all the results from the day before and the preceeding week

teletext, the internet, a quality Sunday paper - thats three sources for a start.

Yes but all those three methods are hit and miss, one or two results from obscure leagues would no doubt slip through the net whereas they would be covered in one of the Non League papers

but I am not really interested in obscure leagues (with the greatest respect to those involved with them) therefore I don't need the results. Other people may have different views therefore they can buy or read the NLP or similar publications. Once again its a difference of opinion thing rhodes where any opinion other than yours is wrong. You really must learn to be more tolerant in 2008.

Lato - I didn't realise the Great Escape was on today, thanks for telling me, I must have seen it over 200 times but it just gets better and better

Nice article Rhodes, I read it this morning in bed, as I have my NLP delivered to my door (do you read my match reports on Edgware home matches?) and then go out and get Non League Today during the week.

Great stuff and all the best to you and Kentish Town FC and Happy Holidays smile

Some who dont know about non league football would say that the SSML Prem div is an obscure league would they not?

Gavin - Great to hear from you, how are you keeping these days. I'm glad you enjoyed the article and I'm sure it will make a lot of people sit up and take notice of us, Arsenal are very keen to work hand in hand with us on the high profile Central Government led Kickz initiative that has been painstakingly rolled out at every Premiership Club. They came down to give the Copthall Stadium the once over when we played Cheshunt Reserves on 6 October and couldn't believe what they saw.

Gavin - Yes this tells you a bit about the mechanics of the Project but the article in Non League pretty much sums up our involvement with Arsenal which is all very exciting, it should start moving forward in leaps and bounds early in the new year and be the talk of the town:

Rhodsey-i see your slowly turning each thread into the'Kentish Town Football Club - Press Publicity' i purchased the said paper as i very often do and managed to find the 1/8 of a page article, i must be honest having seen your comments on here i was expecting a double page spread!! alk

Kentish Town were not the only publicity this weekend as Bedford FC made there debut on Sky Sports News today, just for info purposes i was the one heading the ball home for 1-0 yay

Add this landmark to an away win Saturday and just about everyone else dropping points and it made for a great weekend...oh and with a 3rd new signing in this week dont write us off yet i seem to get the feeling you think we're just the other team in the top 6.

McMullen - To be honest Bedford are the last team I am concerned about in the second half of the season as they are far too erratic and it depends on which way the wind is blowing in terms of how they perform. Look at the two recent home defeats to your illustrious neighbours Bedford Town Reserves for example and obviously the 5-0 defeat to Sport London e Benfica, even with three new signings they are going to take time to settle in and gel and I don't think even Maradonna, Pele and Cruyff will make much of a difference

Only time will tell , however i must say i am looking forward to visting Kentish Town (sorry Barnet)in a few weeks. I do however agree with comments elsewhere that Royston with a certain Mr Hammond up top and Haringay do look favourites, although i think any Harringay supporter would agree that there only looked like 1 winner in our game down there in the last 20 mins until we lost concentration with 3 minutes to play.

Doesn't this bring us back to the age old problem we touched on the other evening that money ultimatley is the best player at this level?

I think this coming Saturday's encounter between Kentish Town and Royston Town will be the perfect yardstick as to whether Royston are genuine promotion challengers following their recent run of four successive victories I think it is. By coincidence Royston e-mailed their squad through to me at 05.08 this morning for the programme which obviously included Craig Hamilton at number nine however we already have a Don Revie style dossier compiled on him and like I said previously I'll be more than surprised if he gets a kick let alone gets on the scoresheet.
