Mick Marsden..a credit to Hornchurch

I have noticed increasingly over this season the often immature,foul mouthed and obnoxious behaviour of a number of Managers in the Ryman league.

How lucky therefore that we have a Manager in Mick Marsden who is a credit to the club and acts with dignity even in the face of many a storm.

It should also be remembered that we are 2nd in the league,having been promoted just last season so keep the faith !

The size of our squad does make life more difficult for the Manager.You are never going to please everyone.

For what its worth Moore already looks a fantastic signing,Vinnie,of course needs a goal and Southan adds a steel to the midfield although there is a lack of creativity.

I feel a bit sorry for Steve Jones..he has looked very good in the last few games but could someone remind the midfield

he needs to be given the ball from time to time.

Scott Gooding is possibly the answer ..lets put him in midfield

so here goes..this is my team..

Gooding Southan Cripps

Jones John

 

This means leaving out Cowling which would be a real pity

but I like the creativity and pace of Cripps.

Of course Gooding could replace Kimble and Cowling take his place !!!

I know Wee Man is very popular but I think his form recently has been in and out.

Andrew Martin could play as an attacking midfield role but he always makes for a lively substitute.

 

The moment of truth has arrived.Aveley can do us a favour by beating Slough next Tuesday,we have looked good at Thame and Northwood so no reason why we cant win on Saturday.

 

I suspect quite a few players are playing for their futures at Hornchurch so lets get ready to rumble..............!!!!!

Yes, you have a made a very good point regarding the lack of creativity. I have always thought that Cripps and Gooding would make good midfielders. Scott is comfortable on the ball and is a good tackler whereas Cripps is very quick and skillful. Maybe he would be good behind the front two. Still, we look fairly solid and I still think we will go up. For what it is worth, my first choice team is as follows:

McGowan Moore Jopson

(Marsden)

Gooding Southon Locke Benstock

(Fox)

Cripps
