Commercial ideas

Do any of you clever people have any ideas how to raise more money for the football club? At the moment the clubs income is through the gate, matchday raffle, match/ball sponsorship and programme/perimeter board advertising. What else can we do to bring in additional funds? Is there anything new we could try?

Yes, everyone can come and buy an STFC key ring off of me.

Or a polo shirt, fleece, hoodie or raincoat. Just have a few of each but if people like them I can order more.

Every TRUE fan should have a STFC key ring and a STFC badge OR if they two lapels a badge in each!

Cant blame a girl a trying !

I did wonder when this sort of thread would appear again. The Trust release a newsletter saying they won't pander to club and hand over money willy-nilly, then we have a bit of Trust bashing over the Christmas Draw of all things, and then back to how to raise money for the club.

Round round round we go

The club are launching an STFC 500 club in january - details should be in the programme early January. This is similar to the 50/50 but runs monthly. Hoping as many join as possible - allows the club to plan better for the future if regular amounts coming in!!!

Club also seeking to restablish contacts with ex Slough Town players/managers/others to form an STFC Legends Group. Details of this should be in Boxing Day Programme

Other corporate initiatives are being undertaken which will hopefully also raise funds - these are commencing in Jan/Feb.

But as always there is always a need for other activities which raise funds.

In recent weeks the club has been reasonably successful in getting more players kit sponsored in the programme - It would be nice to see this continue and with this in mind I will match anybody who sponsors players kit this year (upto a maximum of £500).

Regards, Steve Easterbrook

So you've spoken to the Windsor programme editors about this then as Slough are playing at Windsor on Boxing Day.

The more commercially viable the club is, the less it will be "reliant" on the trust. There are two schemes being launched in the early part of the New Year for the club to bring in other sources of revenue and we will always be interested to hear of other ventures which can be explored to help the club in the long term.
