Your choice for manager?

have to say myself just keep it as it is

dont see how the current setup could come crashing down this season but if it does then look into a different boss

stability is what we need right now and it seems we have it with betts and barnard. ideally we will keep this current group of players together for a pretty long time

It has to be said they have done a fine job the wins, particularly away to Taunton were unexpected, and the players they have brought in have definitely improved the squad. Glad this is a decision I don't have to make!

betts as coach and barney as assistant manager, and while i think they would keep us up i do feel we need an experienced southern league manager to steer the ship for the future someone proved at this level, i just hope there have been applicants with knowledge of this league and who can take us up.

what about simon lane (joke)

It would be fair to say , the club will not be rushing anything in respect to appointing a new manager ....and of course when things are known ..you will hear quickly...

nothing has been decided as yet...

So its 2 weeks then. wink

I am split on this. Yes B&B have done well over the last 4 games and I belive they will keep us up, BUT will we move forward?

I would be tempted to keep them going until the end of the season and review it then, unless it go's tits up along the way.

However are B&B intrested in it in the long term?

When are the club board sitting to discuss this?

Ok well positives since B and B took over;

* Good run of results (7 points from 12)

* Visible upturns in performance and enjoyment by the squad (Chippy being the prime example)

* Good signings made (especially IMO Meddie and Jermaine)

* Increased responsibilities for Lee Riddell and Dean Harper which seems to be bringing the best out of them

* Decreased responsibility for Steve Daly which seems to be bringing the best out of him

Stuff for concern;

* It is only 4 games (defeat against Marlow and Windsor and people will, I'm sure, be on their backs)

* Inexperience; to my knowledge Betts has only managed at a MUCH younger level and Barnard is just stepping up from being a player

* the lingering concern over player availability (as witnessed at Hillingdon it seems certain players are not always available for selection for a number of reasons, although this is not down to the management)

Personally I would be happy to see the current regime continue until the end of the season. Personally I think that most Slough fans would settle for a bottom half finish this season as long as we avoid relegation which I believe we will. And if B and B can keep the motivation of this squad high we could still improve on these expectations.

A fairly sensible post there Radders.

It does seem a little odd to advertise the post but then operate a wait and see policy on B&B. Either the club should back them to do the job and offer them full time positions, or run the rule through all candidates asap as managerial availability can change on a daily basis. Waiting until the end of January may mean we are left with no option but to appoint somebody other than the strongest candidate
