I for one am happy that ANY Kent non-league team is doing well.

For way too long the non-league scene here has been in an appalling state.

Apathy of supporters, over ambition by chairmen, financial mismanagement have all played a part, but there IS room for at least 3 or 4 Kent sides to play in the BS league.

When you consider that Maidstone, Dover, Dartford, Sittingbourne,Margate and Welling all had/have the infrastructure to play at Conference level, it is a real shame they don't.

Hopefully the likes of Angels, Ashford, Folkstone and Ramsgate can keep moving forward and in general make Kenish football stronger.

CG I agree with you there. Games against Margate used to be the Christmas highlight for me, and it would be good to revive some local rivalries. It'd do wonders for the atmosphere too. Imagine Dartford vs. Ebbsfleet, Stonebridge Road, as a league game. For once, local pride would be there to play for as well as three points.

Would the rise of Kentish teams prove a pull on our attendances, or would it make people identify with their local team more?

Hamid was sent-off for 2 counts of time-wasting ? Great battling performance from Tonbridge esp 2nd half when they were up against it, well done.

Not sure we can comment on the crowd given last Saturday's attendance (57 from Oxford....don't know who counts them).

I think we can. Regardless of whether we had crap crowds or not, a crap crowd is still a crap crowd. This is no reflection on Tonbridge necessarily, but rather Oxford's very poor away following all of a sudden coupled with the lower profile of the Trophy.

I recall the Fleet getting a four-figure crowd in an evening replay in this competition against Barnet in '89. One would have still hoped for more than 642 against a side like Oxford even a few years ago, but this seems symptomatic of smaller crowds generally this season or so.
