Yeah, hope all went well today. Would have turned up to watch, but I have fallen ill :-(

They drew 7-7 winning 4-1 on penalties!

As if the scoreline isn't crazy enough... our first two goals were scored by myself and Dom!

Excellent performance from one and all today in a topsy turvy game. We lead one nil after a magnificent slotted finish from Webby, before the Hacketts combined to produce a cross that was headed home powerfully by Dominic Ashford which made it two one at the time. I have to say I was so shocked by those goalscorers that I have rather lost track of what happened. We went three two up before being pegged back to 3-3. The crucial moment of the first half was when skipper, manager and legendary defender Martin McCabe headed a goal bound effort off the line. A real turning point! :-))

 

Second half we lead 4-3, it went 4-4 before we romped into a 7-4 lead. A tireless AFC effort saw them gradually clawback before snatching a late equaliser.

 

I think the following grabbed a goal Webby, Dom, Kirby x 2, Paddy, Mark and Ben. Apologies if I messed that up!

 

We opted for the shoot out and Radders, Kirby, D. Hackett and Mark all scored whilst Radders who was outstanding in goal for the full ninety pulled off two saves to secure a 4-1 penalties win.

 

Thanks to everyone who turned up, to AFC who as always played the game in great spirit and to my old man who went from spectator to referee by default.
