Best seats of my life.

Does anyone (other than HJA perhaps) outside of the U.S. have any idea what the hell he's on about?

Yes John.

A tailgate is kind of like a BBQ, as David said. This is kind of like a pre-match get together in the car park at the ground.

Friejose supports the New England Patriots and I follow, sort of, the Miami Dolphins. The two teams, up until yesterday had exact opposite seasons, the Dolphins had lost all their games while the Pats had won all theirs.

This changed as the Dolphins beat the Baltimore Ravens, in extra time. We got a bit lucky though as the Ravens missed a 44 yard field goal attempt. Not the easiest kick in the world but a Cleveland Browns player did a similar shot in blizzard conditions yesterday so in the Miami heat the guy is expected to kick it through the post's with ease.

This coming Sunday the Pats play the Dolphins at Foxborough Stadium, New England. It is said to be a white wash and some predict a cricket score. Although saying that some predicted a cricket score yesterday when the Pats played the Jets, it didn't materialise.

Two things wrong with the Pats perfect season though. One is how lucky they've been, not even Manchester United have their luck and two, something that I eluded to earlier in the thread, the "Spy Gate" controversy. When New England played the New York Jets earlier in the season the Pats coach was caught spying on the Jets in order to know what they were going to do next. Gridiron is very precise, every play is planned and everybody knows exactly what they're supposed to be doing, it's like an actor on stage who has to stand in a certain place at a certain time. Well the Pats coach spied on the New York Jets in order to know what they were going to do, kind of puts a black mark next to their season.

Not that it would have mattered, Tom Brady, the Pats quarter back, could tell Randy Moss, the wide receiver, to run for 3 hours in any direction and Brady would still throw the ball directly into Moss' hands.

Oh and David, Green Bay Packers? One man team wouldn't you say?

Josh if you could sort me out a ticket for next season's match at Foxborough, or maybe the return game, then I would be forever in your debt.

And a good thing for me, too. I couldn't resist the 21 point spread. The Pats have been squeaking by opponents in recent weeks and the Jets have been keeping everything tight. The bad weather probably helped keep the score down, too, but I wasn't complaining.

I'll see what I can do. The Phins are so bad, it shouldn't be too tough to get a ticket!

As for the so-called "SpyGate," it is one of the most overblown stories in recent sports history. If it were any club but the Pats, the story would have been done ages ago. Additionally, this so-caled "cheating" was never shown to have assisted the Patriots in any way, the commissioner's office handled out a stuff penalty to punish it, no other instances of rule violations were ever found, and lots of other teams do the same thing (i.e. the Jets videotaping at Foxborough last year, or the Phins audio recording Brady's cadences two years ago) with no media hyperventilating. Time to let this canard go. This is jealousy pure and simple as the Patriots are, empirically, the best team in the league and one of the best ever.
