But what do I know!

Apparently little.

As Stu said above, the attendance yesterday was pretty average across the league. Getting people to attend a cup game of this level a week before Xmas in the freezing cold was always gonna be a hard sell

Not coming to a game because of the freezing cold - that ties in with effort right?

I understand why the attendance was so low a week before christmas.

My original point was about the attendance of cup games in general rather than this particular one. I was just saying they are just as entertaining as league games, at any level, if not more sometimes.

But in the past few years the performances have been anything but entertaining. I would call them dire.

I'm not worried about 400 regulars not going to a trophy game. Why the 90,000 Gravesham residents are not coming down is more of an issue to me

And yes I guess not coming down because of the cold does come down to 'effort'. but as I said above, it's only one of many reasons that people don't or can't attend a match. Not all of them are 'silly'

Again you are going off my point - I'm sure there are a million reasons why a person could not attend a match, my point is why do people choose league games over cup matches.

Fair play if that has put some people off, a lot of league games have been the same though.

As I have said, I think it's because those games in the past few seasons have been so poor. If there was someone who had been to the three games I mentioned above that had to chose which game to go to, do you think they would chose a Trophy game over a league game? I doubt it somehow....

Ok fair point but it doesn't explain why all the teams have such low attendances for these matches, I'm sure they haven't all been dire.

But like I say, it's only my opinion that the cup games are worth going to, (I'm sure that opinion is shared by many) but I'm not saying I'm right and everyones wrong, I'm just trying to see why people are put off by cup games.

I hope I haven't offended.

I know several people who cam as a family with extra kids when the kids were cheap each child bringing a mate for a day out, but you cannot afford it as a full paying group with kids, so i believe if they kept the price of kids say for 2 quid for every game , for under 12's more people may bring kids, coz they know the price will be the same all the time

So it is a week to go until Christmas, not the most appetising opposition and as much as the club won't like it the attendance was down because people are not happy about the MyFC thing.

A lot of people are saying that they will go while their season ticket gets them in for nothing, so to speak, but if they have to pay they simply won't go. I'd be interested to see how many season ticket holders have chosen this option. I must say that while I don't agree with them I can't blame them.

Another reason is the situation with the markets at the moment. No-ones lending money anymore and overdrafts are being refused. People just don't have the money to spend on football, especially with Christmas here.

God that was weird.

Pretty good impression Harry but you missed off th mos obvious reason that people have forstaying away........Akinde didn't start the match.
