Anyone notice the new morons yesterday?

From the Carshalton board:

"Only sour point was the 16 year old w*****s who were allowed to stand behind us under the stand and sing obsenties all through

the second half. Poor stewarding.

the Ebbsfleet stewards clueless. What useful purpose do they serve if they just stand around and let a bunch of juvenile ASBO twats hurl a load of abuse at supporters encouraging their own side.

3.The stewards could not eject the Ginger Minger for abusive language, after they were asked to, by one of there own supporters.

4.The bar was closed at the end of the game, alledgedly to stop any trouble.

5.Your quiet right we were told which exit to go out of and once again at the away fans exit Ginger Minger and his twat were there with no stewards."

Who were these muppets who took up residence in the second half and made a show of our club? They were horrible little losers who stood around at the end looking for trouble and spent the entire match hurling obscenities at the Carshalton fans. Complete and utter morons. If stewards can enforce the camera ban, then they can do something about to$$ers like that getting into the ground.

It raises the question of effective stewarding again.

Ejecting people for being a well known home fan in the away end who was clearly not there for any misdemeanour or banning people taking photos seems their limit.

As the majority of people say - it's lucky nothing serious has ever happened.

Yes, I noticed them at the end of the game. As ever, I was left wondering whether they are always so grotesquely ugly because:

1. they have some rule that forbids ordinary looking kids hanging around with them;

2. they are the result of generations of in breeding & living on a sh*t diet;

3. they realize everyone thinks they are little ratboys & this makes them hate the world.

Whatever, apart from wondering at their ugliness, I was also, as ever, left wondering at their ability to bring out some latent fascist in me which wants to kick the living crap out of them.

None of which achieves anything, but we do have a right to expect our stewards (one of whom insisted on searching my bag before the York game) to remove them from the ground whenever they appear.

you guys know i stand up for the stewards but i think it time you lot know somethink!

as u lot know i left a whlie ago but the saftey officer has put kids under 18 to work, and i think in the end he will try to replace the stewards there now, now these kids can't relly do anything apart form point and show where to go, there can't stop fights can't ejected any1. at the york game my other half who been here for 4 seasons was left on her own in the swanscombe end and was push and shove ( sorry for any spelling mistake's) with no help i had to phone my sister who had to come out of the stewards office to sort it out. and all the saftey officer said was he was sorting it out by doing nothink, now all this should be noted down but he said not to, ( maybe to look good at the board of dict) coz there think he's doing a good job.i could not see one steward in the road side(stonebrige rd side) coz there were all at the back. now my brother in law says he will not work for him but will for the club, and most of u know peter ( he one of the big guys how will get u out of a tight spot) so i like to ask if u lot after this think that the saftey officer is doig a good job or put the stewards at risk, because when he 1st started he had no idea what he was doing.

So you, your sister, you wife and your brother in-law are all stewards? Christ it's like an episode of Eastenders!

I don't think it is wise to talk about what has been going on with the stewards at matches, I'm sure everyone, including the safety officer, is trying their best.

harry there maybe tying there best but the safety officer keeps moving people round and leveing poeple in place that could put people in danger. hell at one match he away fans that cause trouble he wanted less stewards wanting quality and not quantity. thing is if the stewards walk out dueing a game, the gound has to be close. so tell me what u want out of the stwards and to keep eveyone safe.

Speedo, from the stewards, I want the most important problems addressing. It sounds like you are overstretched, which is not your fault by any means, and probably makes your job harder.

However, if you are overstretched, I think there needs to be priorities established. Firstly, the stewards must stop incidents where violence and intimidation are on the cards. This includes the abuse the Carshalton fans were subject to on Saturday, any kind of racism or victimisation. It does happen, and the longer it is allowed to continue, the bigger a problem it will become, and the harder it will be to tackle.

Address violence, intimidation, harassment, racism first. These are the issues which bother people the most, and ultimately drive people away from the ground. After they have been dealt with, move on to less serious problems.

If you are overstretched/understaffed, have you spoken to the club about further recruitment?

KShep - there was an advert in this weeks Fleet Life looking for more stewards - so the club (hopefully) realise there is an issue.

And as regards to 'less' serious issues - what did you have in mind? All and any ground rules that the club have should be enforced - zero tolerance!

Well that depends. Do you chuck out thugs and morons shouting abuse at away supporters or do you tell a 5 year old kid off for daring to stand unwittingly in the "shoot on sight" yellow zone.

Yes to both - zero tolerance is exactly that! laugh
Once people see the stewards as acting on ALL the rules, however minor, they should hopefully be put off from risking the major ones!
The rules are there for reasons - and no, not expecting stewards to throw smallies out for standing on the yellow lines - but they only stand there if allowed to by the parents, so its a case of them setting the right example!

Why aren't there notices around the ground stating that any form of racial abuse or threatening language/behaviour will not be tolerated and will lead to eviction from the ground ?

This in itself may deter some of the behaviour.
