Info on old player from late 1940's or 50's

I'm trying to find any info I can for a friend of mine whose dad said he played for Slough Town. He was known as John Stawicki (real name Waclaw Stawicki)and came to England in 1945. At that time he was 20 years old so I'm guessing he could have played between 1945 and 1955.

 

Are there are any old records that exist that would say when he played, number of appearances, position played etc. Any info would be much appreciated.
