Question for MyFC managers

Recommended Posts

So we are are being outplayed by Carshalton but thanks to Chris McPhee we are 2:1 up.

Nade isn't having much luck, Moore hasn't got in the game at all but Purcell has caused them a few problems. On the bench you have a big young striker, a defensive midfielder, an attacking midfielder and a left back...what do you do?

Liams solution: Take off Purcell bring on the attacking midfielder and push Moore up front, what an idiot! Anyone of us could have told him to take off Moore and Nade.

Moore scores a cracking third goal and sets up the fourth.

He wouldn't have done that if I was voting on the substitutions.

There is no question of in match decisions by members. Personally, I believe you let the manager manage.

When the team is picked by MYFC members based on Liams recommendations, I believe that for 95% or more of the time, his recommendation will be chosen. Remember for a player of his not to be chosen, a majority will have to vote against him, not just a handful. Although the voting system hasnt been explained yet.

Say you get a really low vote of say 5,000 , 2500 +1 will have to be against his choice. In that instance, would quite a number of the regular fans not also be against his choice ?

Only situations I could see this happening is if a manager had a favourate that he showed more loyalty to than was justified, say if a prem manager paid 10 million for a centre forward and the fans immediatly saw him as not being up to it. Would the manager keep playing him to save face ?.

Another might be if you had 2 good keepers and one was a fans choice while the other was the coaches coach. Like a Shilton Clemence position from the 70's.

I see an interesting situation being cup ties. How many fans would like the top 11 to be played in all games ?, cups are there to be won. Player rotation is a fairly new idea.

I appreciate that if you say need 2 wins from the last two games to get into the league, then you may be tempted to rest a few in a Trophy or Setanta game.

If a manager want to rest a player, might they not get a slight thigh strain and be unavailable for selection ?

If a manager wants to rest 8 like some teams do, but fans want a stronger team, then that is when difference might occur.

The day we get 8 slight groin strains could be an interesting situation.

Personally, I am more interested in voting on things to help improve the club instead of picking the team.

I can see a few food poisoning outbreaks on the horizon (at least thats what I'd do in Mr. Daish's shoes)
