Rob was his own worst enemy yesterday on two occasions.Faced with only the keeper to beat he took one touch too many & delayed shooting at goal, enough for him to be thwarted on both occasions.Worked his socks off as usual & played his part in the win but he SHOULD have had at least one if not two goals from those two extremely good chances.

Back to form Macca for me.Not just for his "wonder goal" but his all round performance.

Jacko once again gets very little mention but he gets a massive mention from me for being a model of consistency in whatever position he is asked to play in.

Scotts two saves were crucial too.

Wasn't our first goal a deflected o.g? (I missed seeing it)

Spot on Tony. I too thought that wa Macca's best performance of the seson. Jacko is great at left-back. But then as he says in his interview, with Ryan Martin playing so well in "his" position, he'll have to settle for left-back! I thought Robin looked pretty good as well, and SCS saves were crucial. In fact, the whole team did a good job.

I agree with all the above.

Nobody has mentioned Pinns, who I thought had a great game. Great control and good positive forward movement with the ball. Slightly too deep at times if you want to nit-pick, but a contender for MOM in my book.

What a luxury, to have all these top players competing for man of the match!

Trotty was extremely good in the second half BUT in the first half he wasn't so hot,(but then none of the 22 players out there were in that first half)often giving the ball away & on a few occasions miskicking the ball or slicing it,allowing forwards to get in on goal. If was on one of those occasions that Scott came out to smother a shot on goal & get Trotty off the hook.
Luckily they weren't that affective all game yesterday(their forwards) otherwise we might have been punished for those slack passes & errors. Still he came good in the end as did all the others.
We really did turn the screw in the second half & we looked really good. Was just a shame we couldn't keep that clean sheet. It was certainly on the cards to do so.Just one lapse of concentration thats all. We cant afford to do that against better oppositions.
Anyway it was good watching that second half & anyone not there will have missed a sparkling display.
