I went to the New Bradwell versus Hoddeson game yesterday. Cracking, end to end game but I have to say that Bradwell were the better side. Bradwell's wingers were a handfull. Interesting looking through their programme that they have only lost 3 league games all season and have games in hand.

I planned to go to the Harringey match against Brache but couldn't get away from work in time. Great win for the Boro but Brache seem to have plummeted in recent weeks. Have they lost players? Cheshunt also seem to be running out of steam.

Interesting that Kentish Town wiped the floor with New Bradwell 6-0 yet they went on to beat Cheshunt Reserves 1-0 and Hoddesdon 3-0 in their next two home games. This is the match report from yesterday taken from New Bradwell's Website:

A thumping victory for the Peters against early season title favourites Hoddeson at The Rec. We started well and looked the sharper side in the opening exchanges and took the game to the visitors.

The early pressure paid off when a great ball in to the box was headed across goal by Ricky Stimpson for Martyn Lee to head home for his second goal of the season. Unselfish work from Stimpson.

It was Lee who almost put Peters two up a little later on when he was put clean through. He drew the keeper but saw his shot strike a post. The follow up was brilliantly saved by the Hoddy keeper.

Hoddesdon then seized control of the game with Bradwell switching off and becoming sloppy for a fifteen minute period. Ulatowski's near post shot was well saved by Shaun Abson in the home goal. He also saved well a little later when the same player combined to put in another effort.

The nearest Hoddesdon came to scoring was when Andy Martin, clearly in an offside position rounded Abson but shot wide. It wasn't the first mistake from the referee's assistant.

Bradwell got back into the game and ended the half in better form that the previous minutes. The score at half time was 1-0.

The second half was no older then ten minutes when we had to replace influential skipper Rob Mooney with Lea Coulter. Mooney coming off with a tight hamstring/groin. Coulter was soon in the action making probing runs into the heart of the visiting defence.

Bradwell went two up with 65 minutes gone and it was a cracker. Wheatley volleyed the ball up the line for Coulter and Stimpson to exchange passes. The ball was laid across the area for the superb Dave Cole to tap home for his third of the season.

Hoddeson had efforts on goal themselves with Martin and Ulatowski spurning free kick chances. Abson also saved well from a Lee Tombs effort from jsut outside the box.

The game was sewn up late on with a breakaway goal. Again, a contentious offside decision, this time going for Bradwell, Dave Cole was put through by Dean Robb, he smashed the ball past the keeper to put the game well beyond the visitors.

An excellent, disciplined performance by New Bradwell with the only negative being the bookings for Wheatley, Lee and Stimpson for tackles. Arguably our best performance of the seaon so far. Strong in defence, hardworking in midfield and up front. A pleasure to watch.

Man of the match was Dave Cole, his work up and down the line, two goals and constant menace was one of the decisive factors of the game. In fairness, all of the players on duty were superb.

Line up; Abson, Downard, Egelsfield, Stokes, Quill, Wheatley, King, Mooney, Cole, Lee, Stimpson. Subs used; Patel, Robb and Coulter

Subs not used; Orchard, Robinson.

Bradwell were definately better than us on the day. I was given a surprise start in the middle of the park (yes we a couple short!) Personally I thought we had the better of the early exchanges until they scored. Ulatowski missed an open goal not long after they scored (Not Martin as reported) but from then on it was pretty much all Bradwell.

They basically play 4-5-1 but with the midfield supporting very quickly going forward and did it very well.

We explained that on that day we did not turn up. I think anyone could have beaten us that day the way we performed, But we have bounced back. 9 Points behind Kentish with four games in hand

I would've been there but a combination of working late and bad trains meant I had to go straight to another commitment.

I have to say that I wasn't sorry NeutralFan didn't attend on Friday following his antics with Lato and Spidermanor back in June

probably not your cup of tea rhodes but did you ever watch Vic Reeves Big Night Out as there is a 'catchphrase' from that that springs to mind to describe most of your posts.

Lato - You're home a bit later than normal tonight.

You know me well as Vic Reeves isn't my cup of tea at all and I always turn him off or over, what catchphrase are you referring to out of interest

Cheers Lato, we have done very well in the Challenge Trophy so far with three good wins under our belt, I would dare say that we would have been underdogs in all three matches as well, even though they have been at home, next up is Holmer Green.

I did say I thought we would do well in the cups this season but other than the CT we have been disappointing, though the league form has been encouraging.

A great result for Ruislip Manor against Hertford, when I saw the score I thought they had missed the 1 in front of Hertford's 0!! I did expect of comfortable win for Hertford so for me that is one of the results of the season so far and hopefully it will be a turning point for you.

cheers AWK. I hope we can build on it.

Holmer Green...there is every chance of another upset there. Are you at home for that one too?

AWK - Where have you been hiding lately, you haven't been on for ages. I'll be at our Reserve fixture with you on Saturday at the Copthall Stadium but I expect you'll be with your First Team

Yes Lato, its another home game for us and although it will be a tough match if we can win we will be through to the Semi-Finals which would be a fantastic achievement for a Divison 2 team.

I shall be at Kenilworth Road on Saturday Rhodes, if I wasn't I would have been very tempted to pop down to Copthall Stadium.
