Margate 4 East Thurrock 1

Abysmal first half by both sides.Gate had good chances but lacked composure in front of goal & some good chances went-a-begging.

Shocking finishing.

Defence played poorly against a weak attack & gave the ball away much much too often.Having said that the opposition didn't capitalize on those weaknesses in that half & didnt really threaten much.

Should have gone into the break at least 3 goals to the good.

A much improved effort in the second period.

Second half we stroked the ball around much better & could have scored even more than the 4 we got.Despite 4 goals another half of missed chances & lots of bad luck.4-1 flattered them I thought & a 7-1 scoreline would have been about right & certainly we deserved it on that second half performance.Bad bad goal to concede as we began to ease up at 3-0 but they got their act together & apart from that one hiccup we were far superior all round in all departments. In the second half the defence played much better.

Scott made two great saves in the match but otherwise he wasn't really tested.

McKimm's goal the highlight of the day. A super individual goal & for that he shades my m.o.t.m today but his form today, overall, was much like the form we are used to seeing from him.

The wind certainly didn't help matters today to be fair to both sides.

ETU were a shadow of the team we played at their place & its easy to see why they are dropping down the table as quickly as they are doing.

report appreciated by this exile .

A win will do though for me.

Tough run coming up so vital we got the 3 points.

reads as though we got sloppy in defence yet again.Still, even though we conceded-its better than it has been-only conceding one goal !!

Hope RT does not get carried away and think he does'nt need a strong central defender though !!Looks unlikely now that we will sign anyone before new year ?

both sides couldn't string a few passes together until we went 2-0 up and after that we looked as if we would score a few more goals, but it was on a couple in the end. When we were 2-0 up we looked so much more confident and kept the ball down a lot more, Ryan Martin had a terrific game today. Haworth was very unlucky not to score, i think he could have had a hat-trick today.

We thoroughly deserved the 4-1 win, but it could and should have been so much more. I suppose we will have to make up for it against Chelmsford and Ramsgate.
