I was working this morning so I went to see Maidenhead v AFC Wimbledon. I'd say there were about 1400 there, over half of them Wimbledon supporters. They gave their team fantastic support.

Maidenhead's idea of supporting their team is for someone to blow an air horn every ten minutes. There was no support at all -far less noise than @ STFC. I was amazed.

The team battled really well, especially whilst under the cosh in the second half. Both teams hit the wood work.

The players really worked for the win.

Sorry, I don't have the team for the game. hopefully someone else can post that, when they get home.

Rumours in the bar afterwards was that the Taunton manager had resigned after the match.

When Mark Betts came into the bar after the game, he got a really loud round of applause for a job well done.

Attendance was 204, I'd guess that we had 40-50 there.

I will be doing my photos tomorrow, they should be online sometime in the late afternoon.

Well done Rebels, another good 3 points.

Think the team was:

1 Barnard

2 Robinson

3 Gumbs (Ronald??)

4 Meddie Nsubuga

5 Connor

6 Can't Remember

7 Abbey Nsubuga

8 Riddell

9 Grimm

10 Jermaine Gumbs

11 Reece Price

12 Attrell

14 Windsor

15 Mugisha

17 Carl Dennison

Only 4 Subs named

1 sub used - Mugisha on for Grimm on about 70 minutes.

Good performance all round. Taunton hit the post and Barney made a couple of good saves, one in each half. Abbey skimmed the top of the bar in the first half. Jermaine hit the post in the second half.

I'll (we'll) try and write a report tomorrow.

What makes yesterdays win even more pleasing was the fact it was our first points away from home ALL season and only our second clean sheet. Plus we were without 4 regulars (Harper, Rendell, Daly and Janes) makes the win even more sweeter. Roll on Marlow, hoping there will be a decent crowd as it's a local derby and the form we're in we should be looking for a win.

As a side issue from Saturday; Rommell Gumbs, Laurence Brown, Rhys Price and Carl Dennison became the 47th, 48th, 49th and 50th players (including unused subs) to appear for Slough this season in just 26 games. Quite a record!!!

Talking of players, i'm looking foward to Saturday's game now, especially if we get some of the injured players from Daly, Rendell, Charles, Janes, Jefferys back as well. Would be nice to have competition for places. Take it Harper is still suspended.

...and looking at Gary's pics of the Slough players @ Taunton how nice it is to see them happy. Have hardly seen that this season!

However, we must still play the way we have been!
