Ilford Latest Score

lovely stuff

Local Radio is not that good then because Town were so far superior to Ilford in the first half Ilford had to shut up shop in the second half in order to prevent an avalanche this effectively killed the games as entertainment.

Ricci Crace nearly successfully charged down a kick out by the Ilford keeper with the block looping over the head of the keeper and off his crossbar. If it had gone in it would have been a total fluke!

Ilfords one attack of the first half was a three onto the keeper who saved well.

Ricci Crace made the first for Rudi to smash home after Rudi missed a sitter from 2 feet away from a very similar move.

Bryan Hammatt was fouled badly by Moses JJunJu who was booked. Moments later he get's Bryan booked with some crafty play. Bryan Hammatts Response was a Alooping kick over the head of the Ilford keeper and into the net. pay back 0 - 2.

Not one of Mr Forresters better games in the middle. John Taverner by contrast had a good game on the line despite all the stick meeted out by his former mates from the terrances at Enfield FC.

Well done boys on a good performance yesterday!!

We totally dominated in the 1st half, and on a bog of a pitch still tried to play our football. We stayed patient and got our reward in the end, even though we could have gone in at the break 4 or 5 goals up.

Great composed finish from Bryan, and I thought Ricci was excellent and thoroughly deserved the Man of the Match just ahead of Campbell, who I also thought had a very good game.

In the 2nd half we could have added to our lead, but Ilford to their credit put up a bit of a fight and never gave up, without really creating much in the way of goal scoring opportunities. I didn't like the way they came out after the break to wind us up. At least that looked like the case, although you never know what may have happened in the tunnel at half time as a result of Bryan's clash with Ilford's Moses?

We need to learn not to get involved or react to this nonsense though, which was the case yesterday, as it is only going to do us harm on the disciplinary front, and we do not want to get a reputation as a team that reacts when wound up. Those such as Rudi and Bryan don't need to react, and should let their football do the talking, simply walking away from any incidents. The weaker teams will start to play on this if they can't match you on the footballing side of things.

Saying this, the referees need to be more consistent and punish players for bad challenges, and yesterday he did not. They should have had 2 players sent off in the 2nd half for 2nd bookable offences, and the ref simply wanted an easy life. The challenge on Mags over by the dugouts was as bad a challenge as I had seen all day and it was a good job it didn't really connect, both feet were off the floor at one point, and Steve did well to just walk away - good example of what we need to do more often. Also, Rudi was clearly impeded when through on goal and how he did not get a 2nd yellow I do not know?? Like I said, easy life.

Magona and Ticks had good solid games, and generally I thought everyone deserves praise for their displays. Was nice to see a few glimpses of Stevie.V's class and composure now and again, particularly leading up to our 1st goal!!

Yellows!! Yellows!! brille008
