Since the BBC don't hold the non-UK rights for FA matches, I wasn't able to listen in today, but people were talking about Akinde in one of the chat rooms during the game. It seems that two weeks in a row good things begin happening when he comes on? True or coincidence?

 

Does he not start/play more because he's still so young, and do you think he should play more? Or are his last two games unusual?

He probably doesn't start games because, like Sodje before him, he is not one of LD's 'favourites'.

Like Sodje before him, he is invariably used as an 85th minute substitute to try and win games in the last 5 minutes or so.

Like Sodje, he will get fed up with this, and probably leave at the end of the season and be a success elsewhere.

I am sure that this has been raised before but was there not an issue with Sodje's work status, which meant that we could not put him on a contract, which meant that others could put in a seven day offer for him ? Then his "advisors" advised him to leave, probably for more money, unless he is interested in Cathedrals & Railways ?

I don't agree with the rest of your sentiments either. Akinde is still young & raw, but looks a very good prospect, so Liam is probably easing him in gently ( so to speak !!). Unless you know for sure that Daish doesn't rate him ? I suspect not though !!!

Even the great Sir David Hirst started life as a sub for The Wednesday when he was a lad just signed from Barnsley by Sir Howard !!

And......changing the subject....where was the health warning on the programme yesterday ? I nearly choked on my Strongbow when I flicked the page & saw a photo of AndrewC !!! Put me off my burger ( not that it takes much !)
