According to the Guardian diary, anyhow...

"So you must be looking forward to getting home in time to see [insert local soccer team here]," said Gordon to the squaddies in Basra at the weekend. And funnily enough, he said the same thing to the squaddies he met when he visited Iraq last year. And in Knebworth, when he launched his own premiership in May, he wished the locals good luck as their team, Stevenage, took on Kidderminster in the FA Trophy. This is Gordon's small talk. So he should know that Windsor and Eton FC play at Stag Meadow. And this Saturday, they take on Newport Isle of Wight. The Queen hasn't much small talk either. Might pass the time.

 

Maybe our esteemed patron will drop into the conversation and mention his, er, patronage

Actually the least he could do is point Harry our way, we could tell Belma to lay in supplies of Kristal or WKD Gold or whatever! And at least we do have a tradition of visitors from the barracks.

Well a local football team are in financial dificulties and they have a situation where they were unable to pay a fine and those horrible people from the B&B are threatening to do bad things to them!

 

Gordon:

Well its there own fault for not paying, could you not help them from your non taxed riches?

 

HRH:

I had considered it, but if I did, I would then have to give money to those peasants north of the M4 for there new ground, and that would not do.

 

Gordon:

I see your problem liz.

 

HRH:

Whilst your her Gordon can you get one of your cronies to give Windsor its own post code, so the gentry of Windsor dont have to use an SL post code and admit that they live next to a bunch of commeners.

 

Gordon:
