Ruislip Manor 3 Leverstock Green 6

Recommended Posts

rhodes, since you beleive we are all incapable of being able to find the Leverstock Green website by ourselves here is something for you to hang your inevitable post of their always readable match report on.

Strange game as they cruised into a 2-0 lead inside 10 minutes including the first of 4 penalties awarded in the game (all converted). Guess they thought it would be a question of how many they would score as they contrived to create and miss a stack of chances. We got one back with a snap shot then equalised with a contentious penalty after they had missed two glorious chances. We then took the lead with a deflected shot to lead 3-2 at the break and then hit the post.. Feeling among the support was with our defence we needed at least three more to be sure of a point. Leverstock's second penalty got them level three minutes after the break and then a looping header gave them the lead. We missed a good chance to level before a third penalty gave them a 5-3 lead and a sixth soon followed. They probably should have scored a couple more and we missed a few chances as their defence is none too clever either. A scoreline of double what it was i.e 6-12 would not have been out of keeping with the open nature of the game.

Only the matter of free scoring Hertford next up for us who did us 13-3 on aggregate last season. I reckon 1-0 Manor with an 89th minute own goal from Cooper or Redford or 13-3 all in one game!

My point was that whenever a thread is started on a Kentish Town fixture such as Stony Stratford Town, Ampthill Town, Sport London e Benfica, Haringey Borough and in particular Whitewebbs, which is incredibly still going strong well over a year after the game was played, the posts and views figures go through the roof whereas this thread for example has just eight posts to its name.

thats mainly because you bring in a variety of topics all under one thread. As for the Whitewebbs thread well as with many of those threads you brought it back to life for no real reason.

Actually it was over a year between posts on this thread..both by you.

This was because someone brought the topic up on another thread relating to hospitality after games, or rather the lack of it in this particular case, Whitewebbs were well out of order for not laying on food for us following the proceedings when their own players were sat at the table smiling at us whilst tucking into a five course meal, or so it seemed.

so why not continue it on the thread where the subject was raised instead of confusing everyone by bringing in a 'dinosaur' of a thread.

It's because I wanted to bring their attention to the e-mail I sent to your chum Martin Bayliss making a formal complaint about Whitewebbs who, surprise, surprise, just got away with a slap on the wrist

That's just where you are wrong. Many of our players had not had any breakfast when we arrived late at Whitewebbs for the 1.30 kick off due to heavy traffic on the infamous A10. By the time the match finished, following extra time and penalties, it was gone 4.00 and they were famished, for Whitewebbs not to lay on any food when the rules of the competition clearly state they should have done was totally irresponsible, a simple tray of cheese sarnies would have sufficed.

Yes I know it well and it was suggested the players go there but we were running late and reluctantly decided to carry on to the ground thinking that a few jaffa cakes would suffice and we could enjoy a decent spread afterwards. How wrong can you be.

So the reason that they failed to prepare for the match properly (ie taking on board some food) is ?
