FUNDRAISING FOR CANDY

Just a quick message to tell you that when you come to Park Lane next month, Candy, the little girl you're raising funds for will be one of the mascots for the game, just so you know who all the money is going to. Also there will be people carrying buckets for any loose change you might have. Remember £1.50 a pint in the Canvey bar before kick-off!

 

Have you guys started raising any money yet? If so any idea how much and will the pictures taken by the paper be online anywhere that I can have a peek?

One member of the Firm mentioned the fundraiser (train drinking) to his hairdresser, who donated £10 to the cause. No-one has really started yet, I have a feeling most of the money will come through the drinking on the train. The idea of taking a bucket into the boardroom was mooted, but it is widely believed that our chairman doesn't really like EFM. There was no mention of the fundraiser in yesterday's programme, apparently due to the fact that John Gibson veto-ed the information. Do Canvey have a fanzine or want an article for the programme from anyone?

The NLP took a few pictures on Thursday, that may be in the latest edition, if not next weeks. Apparently, we'll be the subject of a Page 3 article, although, come to think of it, they may wait until closer to the match, to raise awareness of Candy and her cause etc. Our local paper, the Herts. Ad, took some pics on Saturday, and they may well be on the internet by this coming Thursday. They will no doubt be reposted on the board if they are on the net.

A fair few people are pledging fivers and tenners if they can't make the trip, I think we'll do quite well. I guess the more pissed we get the more likely we are to just tap random strangers for cash as well.

Not just those that can't make the trip, but people who had no intention of going anyway, like Hornet's hairdresser, should be donating money as well.

I will be at Braintree, yes. I will gladly accept any donations people are willing to make for such a good cause, and they will definitely be acknowledged and appreciated by more than just myself.

That's great guys! I'm sure Parms, Candy and her family will be extremely thankful of all your donations pledged.

 

I'm not sure about the programme thing, but if anyone from EFM/Saints are willing, then you can contact our Commercial Manager Keith Johnson - the address is on our main site.

 

I'm sure the booze train will be great and don't forget to ask the other passengers for small donations too. Every little helps according to Tesco!!
