why do the officails hate us

If you're fed up with the officials why don't you take it up yourself. Were you in line with the assistant? I somehow doubt it....

Personally I thought the ref had a good game today, the only obviously wrong decision was the McPhee "foul" in the second half. How many times was George caught offside when he was looking right across the pitch?

We didn't lose today because we were denied by a possibly wrong offside decision, we lost today because we couldn't mark from a set piece and also because Lance made an error of judgement in coming out when Sodje beat him to the ball for the second.

As other people have identified our main problem at the moment is that we can't score enough goals to win matches. If we can pick up a decent striker in the transfer window we should be able to win games like today.

Sodje would've beaten him had he stayed where he was. He was sold short first by the defender marking Sodje and then the fact that after Lance had done enough to deny Sodje, noone was marking the other incoming striker.

Errr...I have watched quite a lot of football over the years & played a bit as well. Anyway, let's not get into an argument about what I have or have not done vis a vis football, it would only bore other viewers !

Re other posts... I was at the wrong end to see whether it was or wasn't offside....so will bow to the opinions of those who saw it from nearer viewpoint !!

Liam said in his post match interview that he had already watched the DVD half a dozen times, including in slow-mo and he was convinced it wasnt offside & wasnt even close.

I think the reaction of both sets of players rather backed that up - the York players werent screaming for offside and just seemed glad to have been saved the extra 2 points by the flag( indeed the ref seemed as surprised as anyone to see his assistants flag).

Being overlooked in all this fuss is the cracking goal that McPhee scored and, indeed, although it was disallowed, the expert finish from Hawkins. Lets face it, McPhee hadnt scored before today and Hawkins had only scored once in 60 previous appearances, so both were somewhat surprising to see!!
