It's amazing that you haven't yet learned to stop jumping to stupid conclusions! I gave you a list of just some people that are funnier than Jim Carrey (note spelling!). I am not necessarily that big a fan of all of them but consider them all to be funnier that Carrey. It's all about opinion but, as Lato keeps saying, you can't seem to accept opinion that's different from yours.

PS - should have added Ronnie Barker to the list.

And Eddie Izzard to the 'Live' list. An acquired taste I know, but a million times funnier than the quite dull and publicity-seeking Carrey......oh just realised that reminds me of someone else!

Three things you probably didn't know about Jim Carrey (nor did I until I looked him up on Rhodesworld)

1. He was born and grew up in Canada

2. Carrey supports the West London football club Brentford FC

3. He has visited Rhodesworld

At least we are agreed on that if nothing else but he's probably not Lato's cup of tea

Actually I do like Ronnie Barker (mainly as Fletcher plus bits of the Two Ronnies but not Open All Hours or Clarence) though as he himself said he is a comic actor rather than a comedian. A very good one though and an excellent writer.

Oh and to save you a post (as I know you are deperately trying to be in the sad attention grabbing state of posting your 10000th on Friday so you have something to talk about at Hamilton Hall) I don't know if Spidermanor likes him or not.

At least we are agreed on that, Open All Hours was boring similar to how you and Spidermanor were described by a poster recently. He was always at his best with Ronnie Corbett though and most of those old sketches are classics such as 'The Phanthom Rasberry Blower of Old London Town' and 'The Worm That Turned'.

which poster other than you repeatedly described Spidermanor and me as boring.

Ref1 - I don't recall you posting on the SSML Forum before even though you have 23 posts to your name. So you know Mr Panayotiou then, I get the impression you are not overly impressed reading your comment about benches, indeed he certainly kept well away from ours when we played Stony Stratford Town recently and conveniently did both halves on the far side of the pitch.

He probably did you a favour. It was convenient for you! It would have been far too tempting otherwise, and KT would have probably ended up in trouble! smile

I post on here fairly reguarly! Just pick when and where to post!

All clubs are more than entitled to their opinions re referee's and assistants, and like anything there are good bad and indifferent referee's, and these refs have good, bad and indifferent days - as do players and managers!

I have probably been to about 30 games in the last two seasons and believe every ref / assistant I have seen has done their best! Sometimes it is refs that make the game hard for themselves othertimes it is players that make the game hard for the ref.

From my experience I have to be honest and say Peter P is definately one of the better assistants on this league, which is why he gets a lot of premier games! (I cant comment on his reffing as I have not seen him ref).

My own personal view is that referees and clubs do not make enough of an effort to talk about match incidents - and there are always a fair few in the SSMFL! To help bridge the divide!

I always make an effort to talk to the refs about incidents, that's why they keep suspending me.

Horace doesn't seem to agree with members giving their opinion of Officials on this Forum. As for Mr Panayotiou being one of the better Assistants on the SSML register, like you say everyone is entitled to their own opinion!

Hi Peter...

Paul usually does middles on the Spartan but was not given an appointment from the FA for this particular day. Made himself available to Mr Ewen and got given a line which I believe was his first on this league.

Was bench side because he is senior to me.

Pre-match instructions were to go far side for both halves as junior Assistant. Didn't make any difference as your players and bench berated the near side Assistant.

Willo the Cat - I think you will find that a lot of Referees will talk to players and explain why they have given decisions. I certainlt do not have a problem in speaking to players during and after a match.

Willo.. whatever my personal feelings and whatever has gone on during the game I will always make an effort to shake the hand of all officials and opposition players.
