1st draw of the season, amazing! Yep needed to win that especially at home... but a point is better than nowt as people would say. What was the crowd, be surprised if it passed 200 today?

Only 170 I'm afraid! We looked good in the first half but we really needed to convert pressure into chances.

 

In the second, we conceded early and were hanging on in the end after Harper's sending off. Generally though I thought we looked alright at the back with Conor solid on debut and Meddie Nsubuga keeping things together in the midfield. Riddell had a good game and rallied the troops well.

Difficult one to explain really. First-half we played really well, but second-half started rubbish and were soon behind, although did well when we had 10 men.

 

Troubletoday was that we missed Barnard. The lad who came in from Northwood reserves did his best, but the defence had no confidence in him. If we had had Barnard today I think we would have won.

 

Thought that Connor fitted into the back well, but still think we need some pace and a natural left footer to play left side of defence.

 

However, the team is gelling well. If we can get a consistent team the more they play together the better they will get.

We played some good football in a first half played in difficult weather. Good goal by Harper, then a deflected free kick for one - one.

 

It's just that second half start that kills us at the moment

Talking to a lot of the players afterwards, they are well aware of the importance of that first 10 minutes in the second half, and are working very hard in trying to stop the goals going in during that period.

 

After going two-one down, the players heads stayed up, and we went for the equaliser, and after the sending off the players stuck together.

 

The sending off, the first yellow was for dissent, and the second was for an off the ground two footed, studs up tackle. He got the ball, but it's a manditory yellow card tackle now days.

 

It was another good performance. With most (me included) saying it was a must win, it was 2 points dropped, but must importantly, it was NOT 3 points dropped, again.

 

I would also like to say that Brian Conor played a blinder. A great reader of the game, and not scared of just kicking it out if that is what's required.

 

Well done guys, keep the performances going and we'll be alright.

We played some lovely football in the first half, using the wings well and whipping crosses into the box. But Chris is right, and no disrespect to the stand in keeper, if we had Barnard playing we wouldn't have lost.

Second half staying behind the covered end was quite fraught with some defensive moments! I suppose a point was a fair but it did feel like two dropped.

Crowd was embarresingly small (and as usual peppered with ex players!) - poor weather and Christmas i suppose. CAMRA beer was good and cheap!

Couldn't be at the game but from what I hear we should have won, but a point will do going by the weather yesterday. Hopefully we can take something from the game at Taunton next week.

Needed the win yesterday but a draws better than nothing I suppose. Im real disapointed in the Harper sending off as I thought it was a good tackle, but the letter of the law does say raised studs is a caution, unlucky as it was Harpers second booking. Up until then He was playing really well. Ex player in crowd with Leon, would be great to so see Him play at Slough again! Worries though speaking to Barratt before the game I asked about His injury as I gathered He wasnt fit, He replyed it felt 100% He just wasnt selected for squad! Surely not? Saw Roy speak to Him twice during the course of the day and the Young Lads posture wasnt happy.... overall though a points good enough, heres to Taunton!

Given Barratt has been injured in the last 2 games, maybe they didn't want to risk it soon after. He might feel fit, but might not be fit.
