Do you think...

...that this forum should get back to being used to discuss such important matters as the quality of our strikers, the price of a portion of chips or the relative merits of our stewards etc (in fact anything connected with watching the Fleet) and not be used for personal rows, name calling and the other vindictive drivel that has been appearing on here for the last few weeks.

Reading some of the "discussions" on here between certain individuals is like trying to hold a conversation in playground of 6 year olds who have overdosed on smarties.

Come on guys let's keep it about the Fleet, not about who is cleverer than who or who can claim 3 weeks longer support of the club than someone else, etc (boring) etc.

Rant over...

The cynical amongst us would take this opportunity to point out that most of the new posters have yet to actually see the Fleet play!

I however will just mention that right from the beginning of this saga I offered up for discussion the idea of a mini-forum for MyFC type things...

....and very annoying as well !!

Just as an aside, when the takeover is complete & MyFC rule the roost ( even more so than they appear to do now !!) what will happen to this forum ? Assume it will be surplus to requirements as the £35 boys have a forum of their own, and our ( Ebbsfleet ) Trust have their own site....so it that it then ?

The £35 ers won't want normal common locals, who haven't paid, sticking their oar in will they ?

......tw...tw...twitching whiskers ???

What if they vote that it's not in the best interest of the(ir) club, after all they won't want people stating their opinion if they haven't paid their £35 will they ?

We may all be held accountable & shot without trial !! Fingers on triggers, rather than buzzers !

...it will be "our" club won't it? I think the sooner it all goes through, the sooner we will all be Fleet supporters's of whatever hue. I think all this them and us is not that helpful anymore, if ever. We are where we are. I would rather it was 24,000 armchair fans putting in their money than some rich bloke who just wants to play around with a football club for a couple of years., get it in to debt (yes I know we are already there) and then clear off. It has happened so many times... I think on balance that it is better not have all the eggs in one basket

Still my home town club mate...always will be, unless the vote goes to move out ot the Borough ( has happened before you know !!).

Still them & us as far as I am concerned !! Helpful or not, the deal will still go through ( subject to Rick Derringer or whatever ), as board own 80%+ of shares, so done deal squire !!

My little lone voice has no effect on proceedings....so don't panic, you'll still be safe.....there won't be panic in the streets of Northfleet, you won't have to pack up your belongs & flee South !

This is an important point. With 24k people looking at whatever it is we're voting on you should at least get a balanced view. If you went the other way you could end up with a non league version of the Guy from Hearts or Peter Ridsdale or Milan (6 managers since April) Manderic.

To be honest I can see this going exactly the opposite to the way some fans seem to envisage.
If as I'm led to believe the choice's will be advised by Liam Daish then with the number of people voting, the majority of whom will not know what they are talking about then their only choice will be to follow the manager/coaches advise. So instead of getting massive change what you may well get is no change at all. Which is ok if we're pottering along doing fairly well.
My concern will be that with the current level of exposure and good showing of the manager any success may lead to him being approached by a league club.
That is when this could all become more difficult.

So we need advice ?
Which is ok while everybody trusts the guy giving the advice which they will if things are going ok.
But if the guy giving the good advice moves on ? or confidance is lost ?

What happens when Fleet lose a couple of games? And the sheeple don't have confidence in the manager? Then what? The sheeple completely ignore his suggestions - thats what.
And if the games had been lost to bad referee decisions? Or a dodgy penalty? Or the opposition keeper 'has a blinder?
The "wisdom of the masses" v "those who actually watched the game"

As pointed out previously Pat - In my opinion it would not be acceptable for MyFC members to vote on the team without being able to see games. That is why MyFC are in the process of arranging to provide game coverage (either live or delayed) to the membership of MyFC. While noone would argue this is as good as seeing the game in person - it is very difficult to get all 25,000 memebrs to every game (at the moment even 200-300 can be a problem). Video coverage is the next best option - coupled with coaching reports etc. The exact composition of the information that will be available to MyFC memebrs has yet to be outlined but it will be comprehensive.

Will it work - I don't know (I am one of many - not a majority - of MyFC members who would prefer the manager to pick the team) but if it doesn't there is a mechanism in place to change, alter, modify or whatever else needs to be done to the process.

Whether or not YOU like it, its an intrinsic part of the MyFC ethos, "Pick The Team".

So Fleet play on Saturday, the 25,000 sheeple have 48 hours to watch and vote on their decisions, and for these to be collected and verified, and on Tuesday morning the manager gets told what players he will be expected to field that night?

This works does it?
