MyFC in talks with major kit manufacturer

I knew that reply was coming. :-)

In all seriousness though doheochai, find out about Ethel as she was well known in our locality.

Chris and I are talking rubbish but this is called banter. I cannot see myself having banter with someone who has never been/lived here but says they have the best interests of the football team 'at heart'.

Get used to it Jeff. This is the future His Lordship is your new owner. He has been a fan for nearly 4 weeks now, never been to Stonebridge, but comes on here speading his dogsh!t dogma, never answers a question directly, and shouts down dissenters!

You can see this attitude in any town late at night, it is called mob rule Wisdom of Crowds!

It's tough to try to explain or argue when people try and have it both ways. AFF says above that unless you've been to Stonebridge Road, you don't know what you're talking about and you're not a real supporter. When I posted about the time I was at Stonebridge, one poster here (who shall remain nameless) said, I'm paraphrasing: good for you, now you probably think you have the right to have an opinion about the Reds. I suppose I'll hear another reason why my opinion is invalid after I go back to see the Fleet play Histon away in January. I'll save people the trouble: well, that was an away match, hardly counts for a real supporter.

Today, democracy and individuals having input to a club's future is "mob rule," tomorrow it is "not enough voting and transparency." Which is it? Is it that it is okay when YOU are consulted, but it is all the other punters you don't trust? Say one when it's helpful to your argument du jour, and the other when it's helpful to your argument du demain?

Also, I don't see how the put-downs and oneupmanship helps the club or adds anything to the discussion. I respect AFF's opinion, I just disagree with it most times, and I'm not sure how the fact that I'm a new to the Fleet changes the strength (or weakness) of my ideas. If I thought AFF, or even our benighted Unc, had a great idea to make the club better, I'd be all for it. I am simply asking for the same courtesy, no matter my provenance.

well I bought my club and made it better friedjose.....from 40 fans to 1200 in 3 years and what a roller coaster it was......5 leagues up and three down ...loads of tears and upset and now three back up... but the difference 'tween me and thee lot is that I stayed when things went wrong and am still there today.....you lot won't stay 5 minutes when the [****!!****] hits the proverbial...

your benighted Unc speaks more sense than any of these myfc mugs on here want to listen too...... cool

it will not work in its current form...its a con...the fans will never get to pick the team.. frown

It does seem fairly ironic Friejose that you have attended more matches at Stonebridge road this season than your two biggest critics can manage between them. crazy

Sorry I missed the late night banter last night - but I do need my beauty sleep - I will however address a couple of points

I love football - I don't have a club to support - my local club played on the side of a cliff with howling wind coming in from the Atlantic and 40-50 people turning up to watch. It disappeared in the mid-1980's when unemployment and emigration saw practically everyone between 20 and 40 years old leave the town (including myself). For me a football club can be the heart of a community and as such I wish nothing but the best for every club, for every player, for every fan and for every community. MyFC has given me an opportunity to have an involvement in a club that I have not been able to have for over 20 years and with another 25,000 it is possible that MyFC can reverse the current trend that the almighty dollar/pound/euro is the be all and end all of football. The potential investment that MyFC can bring to a club and the involvement of so many fans (including existing club fans) in the decision-making process can create a situation that can change how people view football.

In such terms I most certainly have the best interests of EUFC at heart.

I wouldn't for one moment suggest that I am a loyal, committed fan with an undying love for EUFC - but the fact that I can be involved in the running of the club (no matter how small that involvement is) means that I have an attachment with a club that I haven't had for 25 years. If the whole deal collapsed I don't know how I would feel. The attachment that I have developed for EUFC would make it very difficult for me to turn away from the club. Indeed the longer this process of due diligence goes on the less the likelihood, in my opinion, that MyFC would be able to turn around and go after another club. I am attempting to hold my committment to EUFC in check until everything is done and dusted but it is hard to come so close and then turn and walk away. If the deal goes through, no matter what happens in the future, I will support one club and one club only EUFC.

With 25,000 people involved I am sure there are some members of MyFC that don't have the best interest of the club and its fans at heart, there are some who want to use MyFC to play a reality version of Football Manager and there are some who haven't a clue why they joined. But I am of the opinion that these people are in a very small minority.

Information went up on MyFC forum last night that 5,000 people visit the forum every day. This does not mean that 5,000 different people visit the forum each day but 95% of members have been active on the forum at some point since they joined. From the posts that have appeared on the MyFC forum the number of people who do not have the interests of the club and its fans at heart is quite small and I would actually be surprised if they renewwed their membership of MyFc when they realise it does not do what they expected it to do.

Not in a million effing years will I give Will Brooks and his mates £7.50.
However, if MyFC want to extend the open arms of hospitality to all, and let us use the forums WITHOUT throwing money away - feel free to create and then post a 'view only' login for us all!

I would actually agree with this and have stated so on a number of occasions - unfortunately it appears the rules don't allow it and until a club is actually purchased we do not ahve a mechanism for voting to change any rules. In the mean time ask some of the existing EUFC fans who have joined MyFC.

Oh and by the way - you wouldn't be giving Will Brooks £7.50 - the money goes to a company of which Will Brooks is only one of the people involved.

The rules? Rules that say you cannot give 'view only' rights to people? Fecking hell, you have rules about that, but still don't know exactly how this voting to pick the team will work? Sounds a bit of a shambles really, not the kind of thing that would encourage me to waste £35 (thats almost 3 home games - you know, in the real world!) on...

Oh, and by the way - had you bothered to read my post, I put Will Brookes and his mates. But dont let the facts get in the way of you trying to belittle my comments!
