Are there 2 Football clubs in Dartford?

On a completely non-football related matter, I found this rather confusing. Some of the local papers are currently advertising flats for sale in Ebbsfleet @Phoenix Park on a shared ownership basis i.e. 75% mortgage and other 25% to be retained by Dartford Borough Council.

The way the scheme seems to work is that to qualify for the scheme, you have to be in need of social housing and either

a) be living in Dartford or B) working in Dartford.

Working on this assumption why would Dartford Council purchase flats in Ebbsfleet unless it falls under their territory? Can anyone wiser and older enlighten me?

I ought to add this has nothing to do with my objections to the "name change". I've now pledged to stop moaning about it! I just found it rather amusing that Dartford Council should be purchasing flats in Ebbsfleet of all places.

I'm very likely wrong (!), but doesn't some of what is known as the 'Ebbsfleet development area' fall within Dartford boundaries - such as the areas to be built nearer Bluewater - and other residential parts this side of Swanscombe (Ebbsfleet itself, Springhead Park, etc) inside Gravesham.

See the map under 'Masterplan' here: http://www.ebbsfleetvalley.co.uk/

...having missed the Woking game due to a trip to Paris we got off at Ebbsfleet International and got in a cab. It turned out to be a Dartford cabbie who did not know the area. I had to direct him all the way home and he charged £3 more than I paid when going to the station in the morning. He said Eurostar had approached "Dartford" cabbies to sit outside the station as it was "in Dartford". Seems the geography is becoming very blurred.

Personally I would prefer a Gravesend cabbie at Ebbsfleet - at least they know where Northfleet is!

The Boundary Marker, between Nortfleet(Gravesend Council), and Swanscombe(Dartford Council), used to be up by Paper Sacks, on Galley Hill!

Speaking to a local cab driver, on the way to the Ebbsfleet station, the reason that there are no local cabs, is because the license for Gravesham taxi firms to operate from there, has not been granted yet

The boundary line between Gravesham and Dartford zig zags along Thames Way from the roundabout in Springhead Road.

It starts in Gravesham, bends into Dartford back into Gravesham, the roundabout just before the North Kent Railway Line bridge is in Dartford then back into Gravesham as Thames Way the road approaches Stonebride Road.

As for VCD I think their ground is in L.B. Bexley.

Boy oh Boy is this thread sad.

GET ME OFF THIS ISLAND !!!
