Todays Game

Great game, Fantastic atmosphere! espesially in the first half. Thos Morecambe guys in the covered end in the first half were well and truly shut up.

Wilko had another great game, took a few knocks unfortunately (especially the stamping from that sonabitch no 21)

Fantastic result, but I'm not sure my heart can take too much more of this!

Skinner got booked by the worst ref for ages.

Evans was a bit too hasty with his shots but I like him. Thought he had some good touches and lays it off well.

Didn't they fall over easy for the biggest team I've seen for some time. No 11 spent most of the first half munching grass.

OK Louie missed the one-on-one in the first half and snatched at his shot near the end, but apart from that I think he had another good game. He chased for everything and was a real handle for a defence that was predominantly about a foot taller than him.

Super game, gutsy performance by all the players. Their lot must rank as the biggest bunch of moaners we have seen all season and their play acting - well it's probably a bit late for this years Oscars but maybe next year.....

The least said about the Ref the better - he was s**t and obviously will not be getting his win bonus and a week's free holiday in Morecambe courtesy of Morecombe Football Club.

Great result for us against a proven side..Agree Louie isnt quite upto scratch but then what options does Andy have as none of the strikers have proved this season that they are good enough bar Che and even he does it in short bursts. All goals coming yet again from midfield players..We have some fantastic players at the club but im sure even Andy knows we have to sign some strikers in the summer and decent ones not maybes from Tilbury. Well done today lads, lets press towards 50pts.

Right ....here goes.....

1-Why give Louie Evans so much stick ? Who do you expect to see ? Shearer ? Henry ? Hirst ?.....listen up...we need to stay in the Conference....so, although everyone is entitled to an opinion, why don't we get behind the team as a whole ? and not have individuals who we like to moan at ?? Has everyone got faith in Andy Ford ? I have ( and I doubt whether we could afford Mr Venables !!) so let him manage !

2 - Great game....didn't do my heart any good but what a great goal to finish it off !! well done to all.

3 - Segregation ??? Fortunately, all were well behaved but it would have only taken a couple of ar*eholes to [****!!****] it up for everyone in the first half. It seems we segregate games when hardly any away fans are present but when there are, we don't.

I am not a fan of segregation...but I question the logic of chosing what games are and what games aren't.

4 - Onward and upwards......I have a sore throat this evening....am taking extra Strongbows as a remedy !!

Great day....keep it up !

Cheers,

Great game u mighty reeeeds, great atmosphere behind the goal for all of the game. Bit of a tuffy for MOTM as every player played as good as each other except for a couple who played a wee bit better than others. So once again well done to the SUPPORTERS for the great atmosphere and well done to the PLAYERS for gettin them vital 3 points. Up da fleet!!!

Having seen most of the reserves games this season Louie has proven that he can score good goals I feel he needs to get that first conference goal to settle him down hes proven the skill is there.

Exactly - the one-on-one, you could see him thinking "this is it, could be my first Conference goal" and by the time he'd decided what he was going to do, he'd booted it wide. He just panicked a bit. Give him one goal, and he'll be OK.

So Lewis missed a couple of sitters? Big deal - we won!

Funny how nobody slags Liam off when he does it - and in the past he has missed sitters in games we have lost.

However we certainly rode our luck but came up trumps.

On the way out I heard two Morecombe fans saying how 'they should have signed Jacko (not ours) or Blundell - either one of them would have took that lot apart'.

Arrogance or what?

They looked a lot poorer when compared to the other top teams that we have played this season.

Their defence was easy to tear apart, as shown time and time again.

I have no doubt we will be playing them again next season.

My man of the match - the sponsors got it right - Mark Bentley.

Tostao may have got the winner, but anybody in that position should have scored.

Great result for Andy and the Boys, this makes five games undefeated at home now,Louie is so anxious to score it just wont happen, but dont forget Louie is Andys one for the future, and being at all the reserve games he has played in he has got the ability and it will come in time.I spoke to him when he came off and after getting hit in the you know where he was a bit pale and I am sure his voice was a few octaves higher.

The club doctor was in the dressing room at the end, hopefully not a major problem.

The reason the game wasnt segregated today was the info from Morecambe was there would only be about thirty at most fans travelling, but if you noticed a couple of specials turned up to assist the stewards,no real trouble , but better takings in the bar.

I dont think Tostao's goal was that easy as to me it looked as if it had gone over his head and he stuck it in with his heel, but saying that i might be totally wrong (didnt have a very good view). Any one else saw how exactly how he got it in???
