is there any plans for a covered disabled area at sycob, im not having a go or being critical but seeing this guy in a wheelchair getting soaked on saturday was a bit sad, i seem to remember sycob saying something about a small covered area being built but didnt know if it was happening this season.

Taken from the Disability regs:-

"A person directly discriminates against a disabled person if, on the ground of the disabled person’s disability, he treats the disabled person less favourably than he treats or would treat a person not having that particular disability whose relevant circumstances, including his abilities, are the same as, or not materially different from, those of the disabled person."

Therfore a disabled person has the same rights to cover at a football ground as an able bodied person - regardless of cost to new buildings and where "resonably practical" in existing buildings.

This needs to be considered by all football grounds, however I did hear Chsis S mention that the "new ground" had already made these provsions in the plans - so Slough Town FC are ahead of the game!

even at Wexham Park Stadium when the few were building all the terracing , we made provisions for ramps and access to the covered area, so in the new stadium we must ensure that all asspects of the requirements are met...

Beaconsfield is a hundred times better than Windsor is for wheelchairs. There's no steps to get to pitch level, no pot holes which nearly toppled the wheelchair once, great access to the bar area, and disabled toilets.

If in future plans, once a covered area is put up, then it will be a nice dry area for them as well.
