Assuming that they are still in operation the season after next!

Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with them, so long as my team doesn't have to compete there. I personally think that the "grand" plan" below Step 4 is a mistake, and will always be next to impossible to implement/sustain. As promotion to Step 5 is already a shambles, the FA should cut their losses and leave things alone.

P.S. apologies to the Biggs for hijacking their thread! Might pop over to watch tomorrow night if it's on. I'll be disguised as a Bigg U supporter! (waits for predictable quip...)

More strange stuff from the league. Just read this from the latest bulletin....

It has become apparent that the benches at many clubs are not adhering to the rules as laid down in the current handbook. May I bring to your attention Rule 8.22 THIS MUST BE STRICTLY ADHERED TO and is quite clear about who can give instructions.

May I remind you all that only ONE person and ONE person only, will be allowed to stand in the technical area during a game whilst giving his team, match instructions. After he has done this, he MUST resume his seat. ALL OTHER OCCUPANTS MUST REMAIN SEATED, unless they are substitutes warming up or a Physio attending an injured player.

I had to laugh. Some benches are ill equipped for the job in this league and it is physically impossible to have a full bench of subs and comply with this rule unless managers bring their own chairs! Technical areas aren't marked out, benches broken, too small etc. The league needs to get its priorities right before coming out with all this.

The 'one' standing rule I see is now subtely re-inforced to no-one standing unless shouting to the players. Utter, utter nonsense. I feel sorry for the referees/linos who have to enforce this kind of stuff.

It's difficult to keep your cool on the bench when you think that a ref has just stitched you up. Not that they ever do...........

No banter after the game tonight. Robbie very quiet and refused to say goodbye to me. Ha! Cheer up, you worked hard and you just need a bit of help in attack/midfield/defence mate whistle

Hat-trick for Dan Heron, a brace for fat-boy slim and a Keith Thomas special. Shame Wizzle didn't get on the score sheet, but at least I didn't hear any hammy's pinging!

A couple of scouts there I recognised - so hope for you yet Robbie grin

MoM Dan Heron.
