I like Andy Jones as a member of our squad and he could be effectve in a 5 man midfield, but I do not agree that we miss him as much as some are suggesting (like he is a solution), or that him and Kofi would be a conference equivalent midfield pairing???? Sorry if i sound like I'm slagging him off, I don't mean to, just baffled by how highly you rate him, is he really any better than say Velandia, Hall or Mitchell for example?
Does no-one remember the games prior to Tilbury when he was still around and starting every week?
People were complaining just as much about the poor football we were playing back then, and against Brentwood he was one of the ringleading kickers!! I feel our standard of football has actually improved since his absence, and so have our performances, bar Saturday of course. I for one was annoyed at not seeing Velandia picked ahead of Jones earlier in the season.

Kofi is a good player and maybe he should get more of a run in the middle of the park however.

Jones and Kofi have both played in the Football league,and it shows.They could both fit easily into teams in the conference/south.How many other Town players could that be said of? I agree Jones' form dropped in the last few weeks before he went away (along with the rest of the team).But i believe if we played him right (and with the right players),he is the sort of player we could build the side around.

 

He has been badly hindered since joining us by playing in a system that regulaly saw us play five across the back.Leaving us with 3 against 2 in centre midfield.Plus having Rudi his partner did not suit Jones.Mark my words,if he can commit to the task 100% when he returns and finds the right midfield partner in a 4-4-2.He will prove to be a much more valuable player that some see him as at the moment.

You put your point across well and I understand what you are saying. All I can say is that I hope what you have said is true, and does happen, and that Andy proves me totally wrong in the 2nd half of the season.

 

He does appear to be a big character within the squad and somebody who helps build team spirit and morale.

Good choice.Although i would go with a 4-4-2.With Nay at right back. Kofi with Velendia or Campbell in midfield instead of Magona and Rudi.

A sound and acceptable line-up and formation.

I'm still unsure if we work best in a 4-4-2 or a 3-5-2.

 

I think the centre-mid is the area where people's opinions differ somewhat. Mainly as we have plenty of options here.
