Pick the 11 and formation for home to GWR

To help here is a precis of last Saturday's match report.

"Great Wakering Rovers 1 1 Edgware Town 01/12

Edgware playing three up front for the first time this season, obviously with an eye on scoring more goals. Man of the match Adam Wallace shaved the far post of the home goal in the first couple of minutes and the stocky forward was only a fraction away from turning in a Gavin Hart cross minutes later.

Darren Bonfield was tested by Neil Richmond, 10 minutes in, when he volleyed Jeff Shepherds cross at goal, the big keeper also saved well when Bradley Smart headed in a long cross.

Although missing top scorer Martin Tuohy the Rovers were strong on the counter attack. Richmond’s shot was cleared off the line on the half hour, Shepherd shot wide and it was only the quick reaction of Ben Hayden that saved the day when he blocked Richmond’s fierce volley, the ball bouncing up into the grateful arms of Bonfield. Rovers James White was shown a yellow card following a vicious tackle on Paul Marks and James Foy’s shot was easily collected by Bonfield just before the end of an intense first half.

If the home side shaded the first half the second period went to the visitors. Blackburne had a rasping shot turned over for a corner by Louis Green in the visitor’s goal in the first minutes of the second half. Hart swung the ball into the centre and Marks was unlucky to have his shot blocked. Wallace put Johnny Moore through but he fired wide and Wallace again fed Densil Davidson who gave Blackburne a chance hitting the ball on the turn all in the first 10 minutes.

It was another pin point cross from Hart that gave Edgware the lead, Chakaodza on hand to open his account beating Green a minute past the hour.

The closest the home side came to a fight back was when Steve Butterworth hit the side netting after he collected a long free kick outside the area. With just 5 minutes remaining it looked like Edgware would collect their first 3 points since the end of October but the Wares defence took their eye off the ball and when Bonfield pushed a lofted cross wide Sam Clarke was free to head in from the left leaving the keeper stranded."

Now pick your Town team to beat Louis Green, Neil Richmond, Martin Tuohy and co!"

I would choose

Hasler, Nay, Nyamah, Gant, Harvey, Bastian, Campbell, Crace, Mitchell and Foster would be my selections. (4 - 4 - 2) On the bench Velandia, Hall, Hodge, Marshall and Foster(A).

I'd be particularly interested to here the team selections of "Barney" & "Need to know" cool

"Barney" is in Oz at the moment and was lucky enough to miss Saturday's game. He may still provide you with his team selection, however, I'm thinking that this is a thread for those who may be influenced by a miserable Saturday afternoon endured in a certain part of Kent.

Shame Stephens has gone if that is the case.

Replace them on the bench with Rudi,Negus.

PS. Can i chose a team from the players we have left the club in the past few months?

Jerome John
Dave Allen
Robbie Carroll
Kevin Stephens
Dean Nyman
Andy Jones

Etc..

I can't decide if I would prefer to see us play in a 4-4-2 or a 3-5-2. I thought that defensively playing a 4-4-2 would help us to be a lot better at the back, but clearly not after Saturday.

If it were a 4-4-2 I would try the following side next Saturday:

GK: Hasler

Def: Nay, Gant, Tickner, Harvey

Mid: Campbell, Hall, Mitchell, Bastian

Str: Foster, Crace

Subs who I wouldn't mind starting if I saw them on the teamsheet: Marshall (on the right in front of Campbell), Nyamah, Velandia, Grieves, Hammatt (only in the right set-up, he should not play as an out and out striker anymore in my book), Stephens (??), Negus (could play on either wing)

Subs who shouldn't start as there are better players in our squad, and it would frustrate me to see them starting on Saturday: Dannie, Georgiou, Hodge

Having thought long and hard, there are lots of feasible options for us in midfield, and different variations, be it 4-4-2 or 3-5-2. However, JC needs to base selection on current form and have consistency in his selection, particular when it comes to the back 4.

I don't think that Andy Jones has left the Club, I was under the impression that he is away Filming and should be back fairly soon. Well I hope so any way.

It can be hard at times, especially if it's a long shoot.

If we stopped playing players who are partial to a booking. We'd be down to about 3 players.

Jonah has left, but has vowed to return as soon as possible.Lets hope he does, because a centre midfield of him and Kofi Hyamah would be my first choice pairing.I believe that would give us a conference quality centre midfield pairing.
