Someone on the Bedford forum claims we are '$h1tt1ing' it cause we've released Rudi!! How can this be classed as '$h1tt1ng' it? Surely releasing a player cause he's homesick and Jeff has allowed him the further his career where he will have more oppertunities is a kind gesture?

 

I don't think releasing one player that has a strong reputation, (in Finland) is '$h1tt1ng' it? I was going to post a reply, but I couldn't be arsed to register. It's about time they got their forum on here!!!

Well look at that, 80% of the play and just a draw to show for it!

 

We did have some poor finishing today and I thought the Bedford defence and Goalkeeper, (his first game for them) was superb, particularly the 5 and 2. I thought Mark Graham looked good today and he actually stayed out wide for most of the game I think he should've seen more of the ball in the second half and he stayed out wide which is something we haven't done much this season. If only I could say the same about the left side.

 

I think the defence done well today especially Benno, so strong and solid and Proths although he's best suited to four at the back I think he done well in place of Wardy.

 

I think Potter put in a MotM performance today. He looked so confident and alert in goal, surely he must be Canvey's No. 1?!

 

Wasn't too sure about JK playing in the middle today he wasn't as effective as usual. With the rate our Defenders are getting injured we'll have to re-call Britts soon!!!

 

Also just looked at the stats page on the main site, thanks to today's little tussle, Duffy has a one match ban coming up after collecting 5 yellow cards.

To be honest you can't really slag off a team that are 15 league games unbeaten. I know we should beat sides like Maidenhead and Bedford but let's face it we've twice had to come from behind against these teams. To give Bedford some credit they missed two open goals and hit the woodwork three times. We missed a few as well but the ball never quite bounced for us. Even Boylan's goal was a miss hit!!

 

Six points behind with Shots having a game in hand is going to make things difficult but if Aldershot lose their next game and we win who knows?

 

I think at this time of season you can never predict what is going to happen.

Nope, damn I'm wrong Hampton are hanging on by the skin on their teeth. As Aylesbury & Braintree only managed draws today, Hampton are staying up at the minute due to them having an incredibly slim chance of making up the goal difference over the two teams mentioned if they don't win any more games this season. Oh well, all will be decided on Tuesday. Aylesbury or Braintree win or draw, Hampton are bye, bye.

There's a long way to go yet. But it's obviously been a good week for my lot. There have been several messages on our board recently along the lines of "if we do it this year, let's hope Canvey do it next year". I echo that.

The relationship between Canvey and Aldershot has really become quite strong this season. It is fair to say that for the past few seasons we have both played football worthy of the Conference, and the respect of this is mutual between both sets of fans. Getting rid of George Borg certainly helped this, as you can't like a team with a manager like that (just why everyone hates Man U). However, unlike Farnborough I really hope you do well in the Conference, and I'm sure teams will hate having to come to the Rec (should you go up that is!) As I said in a previous post, it is about time Aldershot made a push to play league football once again, as it would be a good reward for all the loyal Shots fans who have stayed with the club when it could have been easier to go elsewhere. Still hope you'll meet us in the Conference that the other way round though!
