Slough Town v Abingdon United - Line Ups & Updates

Can only echo what's already been said. The team ethic out there today was special to watch and, despite the fact that we saw something like that at Uxbridge 3 weeks ago, this afternoon we had a consistent cutting edge for the first time in years. Personally I think I would have to give the MOTM to Lee Riddell, who was collossal throughout but honourable mentions to Lee Charles, Dean Harper and Meddie Nsubuga, who I felt was the most encouraging of all the debut performers. The important thing now though is to take this into Tuesday night, after the Uxbridge match where we should have left with at least a point, we went and got thumped 5-0 at Oxford City, outplayed 2-0 at Didcot and then looked crap on Tuesday when we lost 3-1 to Hillingdon. We have to win on Tuesday night, to keep Hillingdon down near the bottom and for our own points tally. Well done lads today, keep it up!!!!!

Good performance that I felt has been coming. Lee Charles had superb game today, and there were excellent performances from many others. The team harried Abingdon all game. With this performance I believe could be pivotal to ensuring safety. Well done the whole team.

UP THE REBELS!

Amazing turn around really. Charles looked like a different player from the one we saw on Tuesday. Really ran things in the final third. I thought all the new signings did well, really impressed with the wings backs and Riddell has been hugely impressive since his return to the club. Passion and commitment from all involved which is all we ask for. Good stuff.

And another thing, Barney has really impressed me, the win clearly meant a lot to him today and he is one of the most vocal keepers I've seen for Slough always encouraging and trying to help the defence.

Keep it going for Tuesday boys.

Hard to pick MOTM

Barny....his usuall excellence!

Janes was very steady and assured

Rendell..thought the Mullet was back!!!

Steve Daly. Outstanding.Best game for a long long time.

Harper. His best for a while.Confident and Tough

Ridell.....making him captain was inspired!!

Abby's best game in A slough shirt

Abby's brother was the calm influence in the middle

Barrat and George were both unlucky and both playing well.

Gumbs....tired near end but very impressive, a constant thorn

Lee Charles!!! Effing Superb! Even when dropping back after George got injured

Abingdon were harried all the way. This wasn't the lethargic Tosh we have seen alot of this season(ie tuesday night), this was a team that worked together and BELIEVED!!!!!!!!

Ok, getting a bit carried away, but hey, who cares!

As for Grandad's boy taking all of the Glory. It was my nephew's (Ben,3), 3rd ever game, and that is 3 out of three, but most importantly.........I wore my lucky hat for first time in a month!!!!!!!!!!!!!
