Which away games will you go to?

Recommended Posts

Can you tell me what is wrong in trying to find out which of the away games could be more popular than others ? I happen to think that the games in the north will get a good following.

Why do you have to be so negative when you quote things from the MYFC forum ?

DA11, is your spelling perfect ? , mine isn't.

Just a little humour. There seems so much emphasis on who's going to this game or that game. I personally do not see the point of it. If 800 say they are going but only 150 turn up it creates disappointment.

Spelling is just a matter of opinion, aslong as we can communicate theres no problem. :-)

You may say this is pie in the sky and just hot air, but I look forward to the time when an away game regularly gets 400 away fans or more on a Saturday.

Judge the away support when the deal is done.

I have nothing but admiration for the regular fans who have spent years travelling across the country. When I was younger, I did that and I know what its like.

But that hasn't happened - I believe the figure for the Stafford game was 269 definite - which actually equates roughly to the increase in attendance from last season (and I know all the reasons etc). And the 269 could have included existing EUFC fans who would have gone but not increased the attendance.

For the game against York - about 4,000 have indicated and 147 say they will definitely go. Not 800. Now if 800 MyFC members indicate that they will definitely go and only 150 turn up - then I would agree that it is a disappointment.

I am sorry if my example was a little misleading. But you understand my point I hope. Let's not get too hung up on voting figures. If people really want to go then they will.

All of the Mathsturbation aside...I was 'there'.

The same way I'm 'there' when an Aussie wins a medal at the Olympics.

The same way I'm 'there' when Australia plays an overseas game in any sport.

While numbers through the gate indicate those with the time and availability they do not in any way indicate those who were 'there'.

I'm sure most of you wish you could be 'there' for every game, home and away.

For the international members of MFC they're all away games.

I think a lot of MFC members joined, as I did myself, to get a connection with the Mecca of football..the UK.

I know some of you wish we had chosen Mecca FC but fate and finances steered us your way.

Despite the protests of some among you regarding our 'instant loyalty' and your measurement of that loyalty being increased attendances... I actually do feel, despite never having been there (I worked out the closest I've been is actually Hartley Wintney), despite having seen nothing more than the odd YouTube clip and having listened to one BBC Kent broadcast that I do feel connected to EUFC.

Given time and favourable circumstance I'm sure more MFC members will actually be there.

Given a couple of weeks off and a QANTAS airfare, I'll be there.

I'll preempt some responses by saying..Yes, it will be a Return ticket!...Yes, I will complain about the beer and the weather!

I'll love every minute of it.
