Last night was a disgrace which STFC must learn from.

The crowd were stunned into silence from the news of Wilko's departure. The players were equally as shell shocked and played like a team without a leader. The performance was awful but who can blame them.

The manager' depature should have been communicated to the supporters before and at the match. This would not have been difficult and surely they deserve that.

The management should never have allowed the situation to arise that the manager resigned on the day of such a crucial game. If they knew this was imminent, and they should have, then they should have pre-empted this to ensure that such a crucial match was not played wihtout a leader and by a team in such disarray.

There must be no delay in appointing a replacement; a caretaker will clearly not do and nor will anyone from the current set up. Relegation is not inevitable but nor is survival. We will only stay up if a strong leader is appointed without delay to ensure the team does not shed further players, regains some confidence and a sense of direction.

We must not lose the opportunity to gain points from the forthcoming fixtures.

Come on all of you Rebels!

Well said, its time for the club to prove it can act fast and appoint a new man in from outside the current set up, who has experience in being a manager (not a coach) at another club.

I appreciate this may be difficult due to budget restrictions but mrgh is right things need to move quickly so that the manager has time to settle himself and the squad before relegation becomes a more dangerous threat.

Point 1) I was replying to a point made on a discussion forum which, as far as I'm aware, is the general idea.

2) I never once said Wilko should go. Personally I would have made Wilko number two to the more experienced Betts or Roddis.

3) We should have probably lost about 6-1 on Tuesday compared to taking them to a replay the last time we met. So I would say resigning on the morning of a vital game produced a far worse performance than of late.
