We have a good bunch of talented players at the club, which primarily as a result of Simon being the manager, admittedly they aren't currently playing as a team, however let's not forget that we had a run of games where we lost only once in twelve games (i think from memory) which was broken when the injuries started to mess with the team make up. Let the players get used to playing together again and maybe they can get some of that form back. One critisism of Simon is that as soon as one thing goes wrong he starts tinkering with the team and bringing in new players (just look at the current glut of strikers signed to the team) and playing people out of position.

 

Simon - leave the playes playing well where they are, change the formation perhaps and bring in cover for the short term, the squad (in my opinion) is big enough to cover the gaps

Congratulations to the board for making a difficult, but ultimately what must be the right decision.

 

Simon Lane did not achieve what he promised last year, and the ways things were going, it was obviously not going to happen this year either. Despite bringing in a whole raft of new players on good salaries (no magic to attracting good players if you offer top salaries), but he simply could not build a team.

 

I hope the next appointment is to a real football man who can deliver on realistic targets, not just talk a good story - actually I didn’t think Simon Lane could do that either, he was simply a transparent, arrogant, blagger.

 

I wish the new manager every success. There is still plenty of time to make the playoffs.
