I've been studying the video clip in slow motion and there is no doubt that stevie has spotted the goalie off his line and attempts to score...watch the line of steves head as he lines up to shoot and the flight of the ball..

 

on top of that...steve is admant that he meant to score and he is always honest about his play...I think he did mean to score and therefore it has to go down as a 'goal of the season' contender...that and Nick Lowrie's against the trees.....

the video clip doesn't quite show how far the goalie was off his line...nonetheless it was a cracker....the band sounds a bit tinny though....have to speak to Joe Loss see if we can get him to tune it up a bit...he he....

I also notice that the anti urchin brigade from the Recorder have managed to make us look like a pub team again...funny that...I thought we were second in the league with a good chance of promotion...

Everybody on here stop being silly, I am an Urchin and have been for some time and I spoke to Jonah after the game and he said he was just putting the ball back into the box and it luckily went in, please don't keep saying he meant that because he never and he will tell you so.

I'd hardly call the plebs that work for the Recorder "journalists"! Most of their reporting is done in the Golden Lion in Romford or the Kings Head in Hornchurch!! No doubt they watched the match through the bottom of a beer glass!!!!

well thats funny cos I spoke to him as well and he said quite seriously that he saw the keeper off the line and went for the goal....

 

just as a matter of interest...what difference does it make to you anyway....you've obviously never played the game because if you had you'd know that no striker anywhere in the world would admit to a fluke...'specially Jonah who will claim a goal when someone else has scored it....and spend the rest of the game trying to bully the ref into giving it to him...
