differentgame

..and just to get it off my chest.

Last Saturday on turning up to watch the reserve game I was asked (I believe RT was involved) if I could film Tuesday nights game for team training purposes, knowing that I do a bit of videoing/photography. I was happy to oblige and left my name and phone number saying that I would be at the gate at 7:30. So, I purchased some new tapes, charged up batteries, cleared my computer for the down load and editing, made sure I had everything I would need, I set off. Thinking that I would be able to enter through the car park gates I spoke to the guy there, he could not help me and told me to go to the turnstiles, which I did. Explaining again and giving my name the answer I got was, “I can tell you now, you are not on my list”, and turned his back on me. I asked what that meant, answer, “you’re going to have to pay”, and turned away again. What stand in the cold with my eye stuck to a black and white 1inch squ view finder making sure I did`nt miss anything for 90 mins and pay for it. I don`t think so.

I give a lot of my free time to MFC, running the line, ferrying players to and fro which involves journeys as far SE post codes and photo`s as well as in past years paying for my son to play football for MFC.

Whilst this is me letting off steam, and I should not expect much else, it does litle to encourage help.

I take it you covered the game nevertheless differentgame.. Someone there did.I take it that was you. Sad state of affairs indeed as you rightly point out.Lets hope the club have given you a valid explanation & that this dosen't occur again(if you were to offer, that is).

p.s If you DID do a copy of the game how about you handing it over to Trotty for him & the other players to see.

Now I'm not for booing the team off & I must admit on leaving the ground I didn't hear any, but obviously it occurred, but if Trotty & the players could see that film maybe they would be booing themselves off too & understand why some did decide to do so at the end of the game.

There is never ANY reason to boo a team of IMO Tony. I was disappointed with the game myself esp after we played so well for first 20 mins, but last thing I would do is to boo team at end of the game as CERTAINLY not very sporting behaviour from them.

We all knew if posts were looked back on at start of the season this season would probably be harder so I for one did not have great expectations. What we certainly seemed to lack out their last night was leadership which, when you look at the ages of the lads out there is not surprising. Lets KEEP THE FAITH and look at it as a rebuilding of our side for the future if we can.

Didnt think you were Alan. I too agree with you that booing isn't a good thing.Last night I didnt think booing the team off was warranted, taking all things into consideration.I thought we did okay, not great, but okay. However others arent me & they will react in their way.All I'm saying is that Trotty after seeing the game might understand somes' frustrations.

Sorry to all, but I only had a fiver in my pocket and knowing I would not be able to move at HT I had a flask, so would not have been able to get in if I had wanted to.

Rolling on, I may still do the honours in the future. The comment re watch your self play, I have long discussions with my son after he`s played, he sees the game totally different from what is seen from the touch line.

I personally know DG, and know that he does a lot for the club, especially for the U18's. The way in which you have been treated by the jobsworths on the turnstils is a disgrace. How many people would turn up with tripod/camera, with an excuse that you have given to avoid free entry to the ground. Common sense should have prevailed?

Maybe the clubs PR guru will offer you a free season ticket as a gesture of goodwill?????
