It is a disappointing way for Wilko to sign off from Rebels duty but 4 wins in 2007 is not a healthy statistic. I just hope that we are able to bring in someone fresh to take on the challenge as another internal candidate is not the best way forward. We've got a losing culture and need somebody to come in who will bring an end to it.

It will be interesting to see which players follow Wilko and Roddis out of the club before Saturdays game.

I agree, we need to appoint from outside this time, someone with experience and contacts, not anyone from within the club as it stands, or even the youth setup IMO. That is not a dig against Mark Betts but I think its vital that something changes now.

I meant the comments on his managerial skills, not his loyalty to the club. That's the problem when a legend takes over, the differnces become blurred. As a player i have always rated Wilko, and will miss his 100% effort. But over the last few months "most" not all posters who have said sorry he's gone, have slagged off his managerial ability. This was the point I was trying to make, although sounds like I failed to be clear. I think he will make a good manager for some one at sometime, needs to be alongside someone with experience first, either as a no 2 or coach. If I sounded anti Wilko as a person, sorry, not meant that way.

Some of our posters are not reading what we are saying. I am unaware of ever criticising Wilko as a player and have never doubted his commitment to the club. I have not been overly impressed with his managerial skills particularly with regards to sgnings and tactics but I would still like him to be involved in the club in some capacity so am sorry to see him go. Let's face it he has still been one of the best and most consistent players this season despite his advancing years and injury problems.

Sufficiently clear?

You're obviously still missing the point.

The calls for Wilko to go was for his MANAGERIAL record only.

As a person and player he was exemplary and has rightly been praised for this.

As far as I'm aware he was not sacked or asked to resign but in all honesty he probably felt it was time for someone with more experiance to take over the reins to produce some results to hopefully save us from relegation.
