Until we see some hard cash, I realise money is very tight, hence the need for the MyFc deal in the first place. I always feel we play better when we have balance on the wings, McPhee is doing ok on the right, I feel George gives us a bit extra on the left.

Where we can lack sometimes is when we play 4 'centre' midfielders, it all gets a bit cramped and tight in the centre, hence restricting attacking options.

I would like to see LiamC given the nod ahead of Barrett. Adds a bit of flair, but yes we would only have Bossie holding which may not be enough. . . tough call as always

It's all a question of which permutation is best for which opponent, whether we are home or away , good or heavy pitch.

I personally think that Bossie and Barrett play a similar, solid holding role - whilst Stacey and Liam are both 'buzzing' creative, running midfielders. There appears to be only room for 2 out of those 4, for the centre two places. As you said, tough call.

There were plenty of calls for LD to play Sodje last season but so far this season there has been one post to play Liam Coleman so it hardly equates to the same does it?

I think LD should play Liam more, there you go Gary that's two.

I missed the Kidderminster game so I have never seen Luke Coleman play for more than a couple of minutes so this is more of a general comment than something aimed at him.

 

The gap between Youth/PASE football and the "Conference" is just too great for most players to bridge straight away. Only Luke Moore in recent memory has successfully made the transition.

 

If we are serious about developing young players for anything other than the benefit of "lower" clubs than we must reinstate a professionally run reserve team competing in a proper league.

 

This would also enable other fringe players and those coming back from injury to play regularly without having to wait for the KSC or a friendly behind closed doors.

 

I know previous reserve sides have been scrapped for financial reasons. Perhaps some of our new cash could be spent in this area and prove that "we're in it for the long term".

I think the trouble is having 2 quality defensive centre midfielders in Bossie and Barrett, and 2 or 3 class attacking centre midfielders in Coleman, Long and Moore.
