Luke Coleman

That's disappointing and leaves us even thinner on the ground up front. However, by using Pual McCarthy, George Purcell and Chris McPhee ahead of him, can you blame him for wanting to play first-team football at a level where he may well cut it week-in week-out?

Kenny will be disappointed about his star player leaving.

Yes, it is disappointing to see him leave, he does look a good prospect. He's played well all the time I've seen him play, he took his goal against Kidderminster Harriers very well, but all the best to him.

I couldn't agree with you more kmj. Very talented but rarely used, I'd hate to see him go because he seems to have so much to offer, but considering the number of games he's getting, you couldn't blame him if he did go.

Hmm, lots of threads - one post, yeah you're right Gary, that's the same.

Must have taken you 3 hours to dream up that response Harry.
Why don't you grow up, engage brain and take part in a proper debate for a change.
There were plenty of shouts for LD to play Sodje more often last year. Is it any wonder he left. Contracts or not, he clearly got unhappy with his 85th minute substitute appearances.
So far there are only 6 sides who have scored fewer goals than us, work hard as they do, neither Nade or Chukki are likely to feature in the top 10 scorers in this league - we had a young, enthusiastic and talented youngster in Luke Coleman, who, like Sodje last year, LD seemed reluctant to give a starting spot to, and left to get a regular starting spot.
Will the same happen to Liam Coleman? Only time will tell, but if he did leave in January, I wouldn't be shocked, nor would I blame him.

Unless we get a very lienient referee, playing Liam will mean leaving out one of the other midfielders.

That would mean dropping either Bostwick or Moore.

Having said that Luke will probably have to play up front for the next couple of matches which will leave a space for either Barrett or Coleman.

My choice would be Barrett

He only came out of the youth team a few months ago. What happened to young players learning their trade and having a bit of patience? Luke Moore managed it. If they're all going to demand places in a competitive BSP squad inside a few months, then dropping down a couple of divisions is their best bet for a dose of reality in my opinion.

I appreciate everything that is said, and I agree that Liam must still learn his trade, but I was a little dissapointed that young Luke C had little chance to show what he can do. Bearing in mind goalscoring has been at a premium,, and with both Chukki and Nade looking sightly injury prone (NOT a criticism, more a compliment to the amount of work they put in), I have been a little surprised that LD opted for switching Purcell to striker, instead of Luke C, at the cost of losing probably our best wide man.

Purcell never was a wide man before he came to us though Gary.

He played up front for Gillingham and when he represented Gravesham.

When he went on loan at Heybridge he played up front too.

Luke Coleman did OK against Kidderminster but lacks George's pace and ability to beat players.

If it means releasing a couple of the younger players/non contract players to keep McPhee and Bostwick till the end of the season then it is unfortunate but in our budget position we don't have much option.
