Woking v Fleet

Unfortunately, neither Nade nor Chukki are ever going to get us enough goals to threaten a play off spot. Although they do score the odd good goal, show the occaisional deft touch, neither are clinical enough in front of goal.

A team can get away with having one such striker, so long as you have a 'fox in the box' poacher who can nick the half chances.

If money allows, I reckon to really push on, I would look seriously at one proven experienced striker, + a young up and coming lad who can finsih.

My sentiments exactly. By the way nice to put a face to a name Hannah.

Thanks! Wish I could say the same! I knew there were some forum people about but I couldn't tell who was who!

A bad week just got worse last night.

There seemed to be no passion from most of the team. Bits of the game showed good play, don't think Nade's goal was offside? People who watched on Setanta...what did you make of it?

George Purcell again stood out amongst the rest of the team, hope the rest of the team can gel together more and step up a gear for the York game.

A game I didn't enjoy, one I'll forget very quickly.

PS: Sorry for those who watched it on Setanta, we tried to keep Kenny's voice down slightly.

Pretty much the same as what you have said. Huffing and puffing but couldn't blow the house down. Some of the passing in Midfield looked good but there was no killer pass. Nade was just too static. Even the commentator said that he was being lazy. His goal was onside though that was clear to see from the replays which is a bit of a gutter. The officials were appalling in my opinion. Just very flat all round. As far as the noise is concerned you can't hear nothing with Sultana. Sounded like a training game. Heard the drum once or twice but thats all.

We got told to stay away from the centre camera because the viewers couldn't hear the commentators. Lol.

Would have rather heard you lot than the bollox the commentaters were coming out with.

There's that word again - more credence to my and Bernard's theory...

In defence of our strikers in general, it's not ideal that the forward pairing changes for various reasons almost every match, meaning there's no chance to build a partnership or understanding up front. Contrary to popular belief, Nade does win things in the air, but the reason they rarely find a team-mate isn't necessarily just down to poor aim - it could equally be no team-mates anticipating.

Emulating MacDonald is a big ask, and we just have to accept that at the moment.

It's a commie plot Harry ( or JC as the case may be !) You seem to have more theories than a Science book !!

With the benefit of hindsight ( if that's allowed ?)......should have adopted my "theory" & played Akinde from the start !!! Top man !!

Cheers,

PS...I hope CG is not organising the school bazaar into a 4-4-2 formation of stalls !!! doh

Well, I watched the Fleet and apart from the offside goal incident they didn't honestly deserve anything more than a draw out of that game. A lot of huffing and puffing but no cutting edge and some players quite obviously just going through the motions - they'd probably spent more time on their hairstyles than in serious practice. Okay, it's non-League but it doesn't have to be dire. This was dire. Sorry, lads, but as the school report would say : "Could do better".

True, but in fairness I haven't seen much in the way of entertainment from Setanta's Blue Square coverage. Add a couple more goalmouth incidents to last night's game and it would be up there with 'the best' (to stretch the word to its limits) that's been on TV this season, of those I've seen anyway.
