Apart from the fact that George wont pass the ball to him? Was very noticeable during the KSC that George didn't have faith in Akinde, and would rather hold onto the ball than pass...

he was lazy though and had attitude of a kid!!!

george and luke up front thursday or bring Rafa back.

A very mature response Mike....I take it that you didn't tell him that to his face ?? He won't be getting your vote come the "glorious" day then ? You'll be voting for Letitia presumably ?

Cheers,

The number of comments about perceived 'laziness' of black players (Manny, Chukki, Nade, Essandoh, Stadhart, Rawle to name a few) far outweighs those aimed at our other players (in fact I'm struggling to think of any of the top of my head). People who consider such comments justified need to take a long, hard look at themselves.

I think John Akinde did have a nonchalant attitude against Ramsgate. He didn't look at all lively and even looked like he had lost the ball due to a heavy touch before his goal (which was an impressive finish). However, this may be Henry-esque arrogance or just plain laziness.

What is dangerous is when we racialise the issue of player crticism. If you cannot praise a white player or cannot criticise a black player for fear of being portrayed as a white supremacist, then something is wrong.

That said, there is no correlation between work rate and skin tone. There have been lazy black players and there have been lazy white players. I don't mean to belittle the issue of racism at Stonebridge Road, because it is one that I personally think the club should prioritise and stamp it out. However, we create a tense atmosphere for ourselves when someone, in future, is tongue-in-cheek about slating a player when they realise he isn't white.

And for the record, I think Raphael Nade is one of our hardest-working players.

Fair point.......I thought he looked ok....but if their is an attitude problem ( which I don't know if there is ?) then Head Coach & Mini Coach ( LD & AK......I prefer the term Manager & Assistant Manager but my opinion is not worth a **** as I have not been mugged of my £35) are the best people to address this !

I still think John looks a good prospect though.......come on John, don't let me down pal !!

Cheers,

I'm confused here. Someone please help. Having read through all the replies again where does the racist issue come from from? Why are we talking about racism again when discussing players abilities to play up front?

...gutted I can't go or even watch it Sultana (sic). Took advantage of our generous sponsor's 2 for 1 offer to take my missus shopping in Paris. Tried to book for Friday 30/11 but could not get a train back, so switched to 29/11....only to find the match had been rescheduled to then!

Please give the lads a shout for me.

Of course if anyone has any contacts at Eurostar can they ask that they pass on the score to the train to be tannoyed - its the the 21.20 (approx) from Paris on Thursday evening?!
