Maybe the answer is to get stewards over the age of 21, and a minimum height of 5'10".....or pay for proper old bill ! Just a thought.....

Don't scare them by telling them they HAVE to pay for police protection, I can see them staying away in droves! whistle

Odd, because in the years I stood in the Plough End, racist comments were certainly not unusual. Indeed, I recall racist comments from different individuals at Stonebridge Road, Farnborough and Grays.

i was in the plough end and heard no racist chants, the rest just banter you would find anywhere, but the 1 nil and you ****ed it up was funny

as for the stewards they just kept walking past with boxes of chips, how did they jump the q at the tea hut?

I was in the plough end, and do not know what the racist chant was, I would believe this is banter between two sections of that end and not aimed at anyone else.

As for the hand gestures to the opposing goalie, this unfortunately happens, although the goalie did applaud the fans behind the goal at the end of the game, and this put the fans gesturing to him, on the back foot. I personally will tell an opposition goalie "well done", if he has had a good game.

I honestly do not think you will get rid of this, I have been guilty of hand gesturing at a previous game, to put a striker off taking a penalty. It must of worked, he missed wink

Yes, I have also called a "smart ass" striker the C word before, it is just part of the game, for me, it more to do with the passion I have for the club, rather than racism or harassment.

At the weekend there were grounds full of fans booing players, over the England loss, I would have thought that puts the 20 0r so blokes behind the goal at Stonebridge road into perspective, and how minor it is, Sorry people are giving each other the W**ker sign to each other, everyday on the road, are going to ban that to???,as for the racism I sit behind the goal every week(to the side) and have never heard racist remarks,Our club as you may have noticed is multi racial side, so it could come across that the lads directly behind the goal are abusing our own side, and it does not happen. I am sure, as I think that our own players would have complained don't you ??? The song let him die is out of order, and those guys singing it, have very very short memories, it was only two seasons ago, when the same lads had to sing along by the half way liners area,(due to seats being fitted) Jimmy Jackson got hurt, the opposition supporters started to sing the death march, and because of that a scuffle broke out, between our supporters and theres, with some of the same people that sing that song, stating on here that it was out of order when someone was really hurt,to take the p*** out of them, sorry hypocrites springs to mind .

Interesting debate - as a regular at Carrow Road for the last 43 years you get used to all sorts of chants - fortunately any form of racism seems to have disappeared although there was quite a bit of McNorwich jokes when Peter Grant tried to sign all the left over dross from north of the border! We do sometimes get the 'let him die' chant and no one seems to worry too much - even more popular is 'Dig a hole and f****ing bury him' which surfaces on a regular basis.

A couple of years ago we where accused of being racist when some opposition supporters mistook the chants of Moussa Moussa whenever Sidebe got the ball for monkey noises.

God knows what they would hae made of '[****!!****]' Kwashi eh Jimmy?
