On a cold afternoon at Hartsdown it was a game of two halves with Margate having the better of the first and Dartford coming back strongly in the second, the game finishing all square one each.

Margate started strongly and in the 2nd minute Olti Keci ran through on a ball but fired over the bar. A minute later, the impressive Sean Eferakorho the Dartford full back, latched onto a ball but his shot was well saved by Damion Rowlands. Then in the 10th minute a free kick on the right was swung into the area by Darryn Vanshinsberg which was met by the boot of Alan Heath,

whose shot was deflected into the net by a Dartford defender but must surely be given to Heath.

Five minutes later a thro ball by Margate found Shane Brown but he hit wide of the post. Then a fumble by Rowlands fell to Grant Cunningham but luckily for the keeper he hit his shot wide. Then a shot by Joe Horlock was fired over the bar. Robbie Summers then joined the attack and a header by him was pushed around the post by Derren Ibraham. Shane Brown then blasted another shot over the bar before Dartford had their chance to equalise in the 40th minute, when Tamer Bilal somehow managed to hit the bar from about 12 yards out when it should have been easier to score. Then two minutes from the end of the half Heath rose perfectly to a Neil Hoggart free kick but his header went just over the bar.

Dartford came out battling in the second half putting the midfield and defence under pressure in the first 15 minutes, tho to their credit Margate withstood it all. Eferakhoro made a superb run on the right in the 70th minute before cutting in to fire a shot just inside the left post to level the match. Margate then made a substitution with the skilful French Diaby Karamba coming on in place of Sean Brown.Immediately he showed great skills flicking a ball over the defence and running onto it before passing to Vanhinsberg whose shot was saved by the keeper for a corner.

Karamba then broke through but his shot was well saved by the keeper. Joe Taylor then linked up with him but Taylors shot was once again well saved. Rowlands then kept his side in the game saving bravely at Horlock's feet. Karamba then had the final chance of the match when he hit a shot on the turn but fired wide.
