...can the board that represents our views get some cover at the presently uncovered end. During today's first half the few vocal fans were able to rouse the team with songs and the drum. In the second half we disperesed, one to the cow shed, two to the uncovered end and two to the seats. One of the players even came my way and said to bang the drum to lift the team because we were looking tired. The more vocal fans like to stand behind the goals. Get a small stand up there and the lads will get vocal support throughout the game. THEY WANT IT AND WE WANT TO GIVE IT. BOARD....GET ON AND DO IT!!!

If you look at the Towns Home and`Away records over the years,it is obviuos that brimsdown is not exactly fortress brimebeau....I think a huge reason behind that is the lack of cover. The atmosphere, crowds and results would all improve if there was a cover.bit of a nobrainer surely,by now.

I stand to be corrected but I believe the Bar End cover cost £6k per section so that was £18k - although of course, should we move it is re-usable elsewhere.

A cover like this at the Railway end would be GREAT, but due to cost I expect un-achievable due to overall finances.

However, we have all been to grounds in this League where a cover has been provided by constructing a couple of concrete steps, 4" x 4" posts, scaffold posts and some roofing sheets.

Serves the purpose fine.

There has just been a "supporters cheque" paid for £2k plus the "supporters board" raised £1.5k - so that looks like a good "supporters" start to the costs at £3.5k.

I am sure "supporters" would help raise more cash if a "shelter fund" was started and run from the shop every home game.

Can anyone put a builders price to the cover and set a target for the fund ?

Earlier thread notes the lack of atmosphere and the results at home - then let's try and do something about it.

If it is a "temporary structure" I am not even sure it needs planning approval ( someone will confirm )

If we even have Players asking for some noise at the Railway End - we need to do something NOW.

I'll believe it when I see it.

How about a very large umbrella? Don't need any application or consent for that.

No doubt there are so many other projects to get on with in and around the grounds now the talk of a shared lease is gaining momentum. Does beg the question as to why these matters were not addressed before?

-I didn't think it was that much but if it is then so be it - Shame!

- This was voted down in the Board in the past who thought it would be an eyesore! Which was a shame as one then fan (Top Gun) had provided a lot of the materials. Did these materials get used on the training pitch lighting or are they still in storage for the stand?

- Probably have to be spent on club indiscipline fines as average gate is running at 240 which is probably below budgeted average gates.

-Frank could very easily dust off some old costings if the rest of the Board weren't anti - Don't forget one of our sponsors is a builders merchant. Why not ask them nicely if we can build the "Selco" stand? So with Selco as sponsor and if Top Guns original materials are still retained you have most of what you need other than a changed vote in the Board - Which might be the more difficult part of the plan unless you've deselected some of the same old faces in the election or they have their minds changed by sufficent numbers of fans nagging about it!
