Glad you enjoyed your day out, hope it was worth the journey & price! butterfly

Tough!

Unlike many people who come onto this forum, I happen to care about the club that I have followed for over 43 seasons. As such I have every right to air my views about the MyFC farce and as I said previously anyone who thinks todays team/performance was better than many seasons in the past have very short memories or are deluded.

In many ways todays game reminded me of those horrendously cold nights watching the 'Fleet play games in the old Kent Floodlight Cup against the likes of Canterbury City, Grays Athletic and Hastings United. Small crowd, very little atmosphere and poor football on the pitch!

These 'small crowds' which you obviously have a problem with, as do I, are the kind of small crowds that without MyFC's involvement, will see us ultimately playing 'against the likes of Canterbury City, Grays Athletic and Hastings United' in a League game.

And what makes you think that the farce with MyFc is going to make the slightest difference, it just might do this season. But what about next season, when the MyFc cyber-fans get hacked off that they couldn't vote on every little day to day event at the club, so don't pay-up next seasons £35, directors with no control, having signed over all control of the club to a website with very possibly far fewer 'members' in the second year and lets assume that the club had been able to sign one or two players this coming transfer window, incidently probably at a far inflated cost as a result of the club being perceived as now being 'wealthy', then being left with players on contracts that the club can no longer afford.

And a new ground in progress with not enough money to fund it, once this farse as callapsed

LOL - another 'member' thinking that anyone at MyFC LTD ACTUALLY gives a sh*t about what they think!

"Thanks for the money"

Okuz - there are plenty of people on here who are pro the MyFC takeover, albeit with a huge dose of trepidation thrown in.

If you react to those who resent your presence by throwing your toys out your pram, you will only succeed in delighting them & alienating those Fleet fans who tentatively welcome this project.

Good that you made the trip, Friejose, and that you enjoyed your day at the Fleet. I look forward to seeing you again at some point in the future (I guess it would be a wee bit time consuming and expensive to come every week!).

I think the worst thing about the MyFC thing is not the event itself, and not the debate as such, but its the fact that its created a few divisions in the support. People fall into one of 3 camps = totally for, totally against, or wait & see. That in itself, is fair enough, but I think its also meant people express stronger views than might otherwise have been the case.

I'm not convinced that someone like John Pearce would be quite so strong in his "Yesterday was rubbish" view, if the MyFC issue did not exist. No, we werent on our best form, but to suggest that it was worse than the Stafford game (or one or two others) last year?? Definitely not (in my view)

Views can be clouded by results so I accept that a win makes it look rosier than it actually was - Stafford were very lacklustre 1st half, but I thought they improved after the break and they were not the worst team I have ever seen at Stonebridge Road, based on the second half at least.

We admittedly didnt get going in the 1st half either, but we did enough to deserve to win the game.

I equally think we underestimate the effect a lack of a quality forward has - Charlie Mac was outstanding last year, not only in the goals he scored, but his overall movement and play all round the pitch - having one player like that is so important to a side.

Healthy debate is good for any organisation, but lets not let it get to the point where ultimately it either we love you or we hate you, with infighting wherever we look - that WILL lead to the end of the club we all love & I'm sure its something that none of us want to happen - the True Fleet Fans, or the MyFC Members.

Wish I was too young to go in the pub mate, I would have saved enough money over the years to buy the 'kin club myself and stop
all this b*llocks.....if only I had known back then !

Cheers,

Oh! can I also point out that Canterbury City and Hastings United are no longer in existence and Grays Athletic are currently in the same league as the 'Fleet.

5,000 members signed up AFTER Ebbsfleet were announced. £175,000 was spent by members after our club had been chosen. I don't think too many of these will go next season, having made a conscious decision to own our club specifically. £175000 per year alone will change our club immensely.

If the numbers do drop off, ask yourself who will be left. Not the 20,000 apparent FM08 enthusiasts who were upset they couldn't vote (a conclusion you're jumping to without foundations). It'll be the 5000 who either weren't upset that they couldn't vote (if that becomes the case) because they wanted to see a small club flourish, or the fans who have actually developed an affection for the club, through going to see them.

Worst case scenario next year- 5000 owners who either have no intention of voting, or who vote because they get to a proportion of games (and can cast an educated vote) and have become 'fans'; a regular income of £175000 a year plus additional sponsors, increased attendances, and the majority of votes cast from people who see the team.

Best case scenario? The sky's the limit.

As for the trivial point about the teams, the real point was that we would be playing against lowly Kent league teams.

As far as I know, MyFC won't spend money the club don't have. If we sign a player, there is no chance of us being 'left with contracts we can't afford' as the contracts would be planned with the money we have available (money that's been paid up), as well as sustainable sources of income- just as reliable as the way any other club conducts financial affairs.

As for the directors, will Brian Kilcullen have 'no control' in his job as he builds plans for our new stadium? If the directors became MyFC members and stood for election to the board, I would vote them in for one.

From where I was standing, yes you probably are!

I say again - a poor side against a 'pub' side.

Actually KShep, no you weren't. I thought that we played some decent stuff in the second half today. Particularly given the fact that we spent nearly an hour with 10 men.

I was impressed by the fact that, having lost a forward, Liam didn't revert to 4-4-1, but moved Luke up front and played 4-3-2.
George didn't stop and McPhee and Bostwick made a formidable partnership in the middle

And when Liam took an exhausted George off and replaced him with Barrett, he didn't merely add him to the midfield, but pushed McPhee up top. His adventurousness was repaid wth the victory.

Mr Pearce, I bow to the fact that you have been going for longer than me and that you remember the golden days of years gone by.You are very knowledgeable.

You obviously have a great many opinions, most of them negative. You are entitled to these opinions, it is just a shame that they are usually wrong

Brian Kilcullen is and will remain a member of the board. He work on the new stadium will continue and with the help of MyFC will have a better chance of coming to fruition.

really...I thought you said in an earlier post that ALL of the current directors would become non executive...are you now saying that BK will remain as an executive officer of the club..?

and could you also please tell us what the new stadium development will consist of...just a football ground or is there a full retail development being submitted to the planning offices...

could you also please tell us if the myfc funds will be used for the planning costs...

could you also please tell us who will actually own the new ground and the surrounding retail development once planning has been obtained....

many thanx...

Since this retail development only exists in your mind UU and you are a MyFC member you can own it.

If I was dreaming up a retail park I'd dream of one that was more than ten minutes from Bluewater and Lakeside but I obviously don't have your imagnation.
