Which backs up my original comment that the board could not afford to/not prepared to continually pump money in.

All in all, quite a rosy statement - but then it would be.

There's still good and bad sides to all this.

I think that answers some questions like:

Why are we doing this?

What happens if/when people lose interest in MyFC?

It doesn't address my biggest concern.....What happens if people don't lose interest? supposing when the deal is announced 50,000 people sign up and then we get promoted and snother 50,000 join up and/or EA Sports decide to invest in the Championship Manager club?

What happens to the Fleet then?

In the words of Imagination-there gonna be some changes.

However,I can easily understand that concern of yours.

If any consolation,I do not see that scenario as especially likely. Then again, what do I know?

At the end of the day..change was coming Ebbsfleet Uniteds way anyway I think,so in that context..

Proper football fans is a conservative bunch, that is the reality of things.

When it comes to football,I am conservative as well.

Don't worry boys....if we do get 50,000 fans...then we can be called Thameside ( that name hasn't been used before has it !!!??!!)....more people know of the Thames than of Ebbsfleet ( or Gravesend or Northfleet )....then we can have an "overseas" manager and a squad with only a couple of UK players in....well....good enough for Arsenal ( formerly Woolwich Arsenal for our new fans)....founded in the Royal Oak , recently The Pullman, pub in Woolwich I believe ? which has been knocked down to make way for the DLR extension !!....so anyway, we are Thameside...and no locals will be able to afford the prices...and so another piece of history is penned....just like the demise of The Royal Oak....

The futures bright....as long as you can afford it !!

Look out for luxury appartments at The Swanscombe End....with river views !!

Cheers,

PS...George Purcell....excellent again today....my man of the match anyway !!

I don't want to sound too cynical here, but this kind of statement suggests the MyFootballClub takeover could be a quick fix to solve not only the debts of the club, but also to relieve the Directors of excessive expenditure. I very much hope this isn't the case, as such an act of personal salvation could well be crippling to the club.

my understanding is that the club was being subsidised by the pockets of the board, which in the case of our not overly cash rich board is only sustainable in the exetreme short term. (although will probably be more cash rich once share sales go thru!) I think the MYFC option make sense to them rather than a more a desperate search for a buyer in the coming months. nly makes me think should we have believed the board when they have said on more than one occasion that they would not jeopardise the clubs future on full time football and spending would be sustainable, when obviously it was not.
